About this deal

To install, drill a 10mm hole with a masonry or SDS bit to the depth of your red or blue Corefix plug, tap this home until the flange touches the plasterboard, tap home the engineered steel core until this is flush with the flange of the plug, offer up the bracket/fixture and screw home until tight. Of course, other frame fixings will claim to perform the same role but unlike these inferior plastic versions, Corefix has a steel core which transfers the load from the plasterboard to the solid blockwork or masonry material behind the plasterboard.

Let them help you identify product alternatives, source additional technical data and find answers to your technical questions. Corefix is part of the Metex range of innovate products designed for the construction and pest control sectors. The hole needs to be drilled quite deep and getting that depth is a bit marginal with standard drill bits.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Corefix provides a reliable solution for fixing heavy items to plasterboard supported on battens or dot and dab, or similar substrates. Corefix Air (Blue) has been created to highlight the suitability for use when fixing into thermalite/aircrete blocks as this type of wall construction is notoriously difficult to fix to. I've used appropriate lengths of 15mm copper pipe or, for heavier loads such as large radiators, slices of a broom handle (with a hole drilled through the centre) to do this and it works perfectly fine. They are fitted like a standard brick wall fixing, but the metal bridge piece solves the dot and dab problem.

Often resulting in the fixing screw bending slightly over time due to the distance between the rawl plug and the face of the plasterboard/item being fixed. First off these are expensive for what they are which is long rawl plugs, some thin metal tubes and long screws. We would recommend using a wire and pipe detector, although care should be taken as these may not detect plastic pipes where used.
