About this deal

La narración tiene mucho de película de acción, con tiroteos, persecuciones, malos malísimos, y viajes a lugares exóticos. Also, given the last 2 years and various governmental responses to COVID, bold of the author to imagine a world where a deadly virus could be tamped out in little to no time. Jordan is a brilliant and successful media and film critic on YouTube and I was curious about his books, if only as a way to support his overall work. This book does not take a lot of time giving the characters huge and sweeping background stories with lots of emotional baggage that they have to work through. Jordan has lots of natural talent with pacing and staging action but likely doesn't read that widely himself, or limits himself to this genre, otherwise I think he would have squashed the clichés as he encountered them.

Of course, this is a matter of taste, and Jordan is probably right to avoid controversy and let the events of the novel speak for themselves. He is the senior editor of The Everyman and has written essays for The Federalist, The American Conservative, and The Imaginative Conservative, as well as the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture. No, we don't get dudes mowing down hordes of the undead, but what action here is clinical and well thought out. a possible beginning of the end of mankind buried deep in Dyatlov Pass in the northern Ural Mountains, Russia where an expedition had gone wrong and all nine trekkers succumbed to unexplained deaths. Unfortunately, this fell into the wrong hands and the kidnappers coerced Ivanov to perfect the strain and create a deadly biological weapon unleashing them into the world’s populated nodes causing the annihilation of mankind.Meanwhile, Cameron Becker has also landed in the village on a solo mission, who had been tipped off by his Russian handler that Luka Belikov and his kidnappers would be in and around the same region. Finally another star lost due the ending, it felt rushed and uninspired, with some clear issues that I won't mention due spoilers, but to be honest, was a let down, it looked like the author run out of pages and have to finish the book. This might put people off at first, but what if the film were improved, brought down a notch and had its narrative carefully crafted? Opposite Becker is Lori Dalton, an epidemiologist tasked with figuring out how to contain and counteract this horrible virus.

Reconozco que, si bien no estoy de acuerdo con todo lo que dice, coincido con muchas de sus críticas. Some nice action sequences are populated throughout and you do get a good sense of urgency as the conflict ramps up.While some of Jordan’s basic insights about what makes for good storytelling might seem obvious, they have proven difficult for the entertainment industry to consistently apply. True to his rule of keeping to the logic of his world, Jordan’s characters are surprisingly realistic, facing numerous setbacks and coping with limitations. The Critical Drinker) weaves military action and a historical event stained with an air of mystery into a well-crafted narrative. Yet for all the familiar conventions, there are more than a few twists and complications to make the story unpredictable and interesting.

In any case, I 100% enjoyed the book and would love to read more of your stories outside your well stablished universe. When his team is ambushed and the scientist is kidnapped, he seeks out the scientist and discovers a deeper plot to release a virus that turns people into zombies. Becker and his 2 team members hurry to their safe house and, along with their tech guy, set about finding Belikov who has a GPS tracker hidden in his clothing.
