About this deal

Even though a few of them were taken during "golden hour" there was considerable cloud cover above, and the sunset/sunrise hues of colour are not too noticeable. ISO 200 speed film, which offers really fine grain and natural looking results under mixed daylight conditions.

For a small investment per roll you will get great colour reproduction, a forgiving exposure range, and good detail. Colour is nicely, but not overly saturated and realistic when given full exposure, with good definition, moderate grain, and good sharpness.During this time, the money will not have left your account and will appear on your account as "un-cleared funds or pending". My name is Bastian and I am your expert here when it comes to ultra wide angle lenses, super fast portrait lenses (ranging from a 50mm f/0. A comparison I made with both films shot on the same sunny day and processed and scanned at the same lab, delivered results (from Olympus OM (50mm lens)) that were virtually indistinguishable, unless pixel peeping. I’d always err towards giving it more light than less, as it can quickly look muddy when underexposed. Kodak Colorplus is a fantastic colour film - renowned worldwide for producing great colours, classic aesthetic, without breaking your bank account.

While supposed to be cheaper than Kodak Gold, these days the pricing is completely bogus because everything is always in short supply, so I think I ended up paying more for this roll of Color Plus 200 than I ever did for a roll of Gold 200. During sunny conditions however, contrast and saturation take a boost, and this is where I think this film really shines. ColorPlus has a long history of changing names throughout the decades, but always maintaining its cheaper and mass public appeal. While it does handle gentle pushing and pulling reasonably well, its best images come when shot at box speed in strong light.Kodak ColorPlus is also one of those standard color films that can be developed anywhere, from your local CVS to pro labs, or on your backpacking trip thousands of miles away from home with a self-developing kit. I do like Kodak Colorplus 200 but also Kodak Gold 200 not only because they are my favourite film speed but also because they seem to be the rare films available as 24 exp. but, having them in some physical form in yours or other peoples hands years down the track is what brings that added value. You'll notice that even though film packaging is labelled as "Colorplus" (a pretty lazy name, I must say) the canisters inside are labelled "Kodacolor" with a branding scheme that looks like it's out of the 80's.

So if you look at the sample photos and think that ColorPlus 200 looks and feels like a 70s or 80s throwback. Rated at 200 ISO, this film is destined to be shot in sunny, outdoor situations, or in very well-lit environments. It sells well and has become hard to track down as it flies off the shelves during this year in which supply chains and manufacturing have been stressed. Especially when shot in overcast conditions, the film generally renders a lifelike image with somewhat muted blues in the skies (unlike Ektar 100, for example). I was initially very disappointed with the grain until I realised that Unsharp Masking (USM) plus Clarity that I would usually apply to a digital file when processing in Affinity Photo brings out the grain to an alarming extent. Considering the sparse number of films available these days I do really wonder why Kodak kept both – the Color Plus 200 and Gold 200 – in the programme, while discontinuing so many other films. This was a very convenient kit of single use glass phials of concentrate which had snap off ends, now no longer available.
