About this deal

I experienced no material coming off while drybrushing or painting it, and I went quite rough with a big brush. We will resolve the issue by sending you replacement items or parts wherever we can or we will offer you an immediate refund if you prefer. While it can look okay, you will get a much more striking look if you mix it on top of a base with something else on it. When applied to a miniature’s base or any other suitable surface, Agrellan Earth adds a distinct dimension of realism. Astrogra nite Debris technical paint applied as a base texture, followed by subsequent drybrushing (for highlights) and darkening washes to adjust the shade.

Using a brush on the two earth version is not out of the question, as there is no grit in the paint – as long as you remember to clean that sucker thoroughly afterwards (in fact you should always clean your brushes. It was easy to get the texture out of the pot and onto the base, but it was actually a bit hard to move the stuff around the base in the way I wanted to do. This means the texture paint will now be in a clear pot (24 ml) and it will say “Technical” instead of “Texture” on the pot.

RELATED: ESSENTIAL BASING MATERIALS FOR MINIATURES AND MODELS Agrellan Badland is another popular citadel technical paint. If you’re like me, and want to add a bit more interest, sometimes I’ll apply a wash or shade to darken the recesses.

I find many other basing materials to be quite messy, but this feels just like painting the base and not like basing. The main attraction of 40k is the miniatures, but there are also many video games, board games, books, ect. Even though there are a ton of other textured art mediums out there, in my latest work, I’ve reached for this pot of technical paint again and again. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. From crackling earth and rusted metal to glowing magical runes and realistic blOOd splatters, these paints open up a whole new world of possibilities for customization and storytelling. The texture will provide a quick base for miniature models and is a substitute for the normal process of using flock, cork, or other basing materials. Churned earth, grisly gore, rust and corrosion or spectral glows - each makes for an eye-catching way to finish your miniatures.

All of our paints are non-toxic, water-based acrylic that are designed for use on plastic, metal, and resin miniatures. The Citadel Technical paints come in convenient and durable pots that are designed to prevent spillage and maintain the integrity of the paint. The colour remained the same for all of them in the drying process, but all of the paints shrunk a bit after it was dry. Applying Stirland Mud to the base or even to specific areas of your miniature will create the appearance of wet, earthy ground, as if the miniature has just trudged through muddy terrain. Stirland Mud: A thick, brown paint that comes loaded with texture, it can be used to give the effect of mud, soil, or dirt.

I take a texture brush, load it with a dollop of the technical paint, and slap on a good amount on my working surface. One of the best technical paints is Astrogranite, which is perfect for creating realistic rock and stone textures. These paints are designed to be used on top of your basecoats and can be applied with brushes or sponges to achieve the desired results. After about 5 hours the material was dry enough to handle, but I would recommend you just leave the texture overnight to make sure it dries completely before handling.

Citadel Technical Texture paints are a special brand of paint that is very unlike the normal acrylic paint.
