About this deal

On Tuesday the Twirlywoos have some colourful fun when they secretly help out an artist with a huge floor canvas. The figurines are nice and small and fit into small hands perfectly, they can sit and stand up (peakaboo is a static figurine). Twirlywoos has a very strong spatial relations component, with Great BigHoo, Toodloo, Chickedy, and Chick learning about up, down, over, underneath, around, through, and various other relational concepts throughout their explorations.

For the uninitiated, the Twirlywoos are “four small, bird-like characters who are inquisitive, enthusiastic and always looking to learn something new about the world. The Twirlywoos are constantly curious and in awe of the world around them, and (through gestures and sounds) pose questions that lead to investigations. Children learn more about things by observing how certain characteristics are similar or different (e. Great BigHoo and Peekaboo figurines are included and are the perfect size for little hands to grasp, these colourful figurines will help children to develop fine motor skills whilst encouraging them to use their imagination through pretend play. The Big Red Boat Playset measures approx 34cm long by 33cm high (including ducks) by 20cm wide and it comes with a Great Big Hoo character and a Peekaboo character. Little G must have pressed it about 50 times, watching the fruit tea fill up and drop back down again! Inside the boat the table can be pushed in or popped out and the Fruit Tea Machine can be filled or emptied with the floor pedal or button on the wall.

In Monday’s episode, Getting Wet, an unsuspecting gardener is in for a soggy surprise when the Twirlywoos have some fun with a hosepipe. Comical, colourful and curious, the Twirlywoos are back on CBeebies with a new set of adorable antics, from Monday 27 July. There is a little hideaway door for Peekaboo to hide behind and the side door opens to reveal the inside play area of the boat.I haven't deducted any stars for the couple of little niggles I have as the set is fantastic and very much loved and played with. They share and they think about each other, presenting a very strong role model for the children to emulate. I have attached a video of the Big Red Boat Playset which shows all of it's features and also the Twirlywoos Character Gift Pack and there is also a photo slideshow at the end of the video which starts just after the 6minute point should anyone wish to just look at the photo's rather than view the video. You press the little button and the narrator says full when it gets to the top and empty once it all drains away again. The sharing of tea or the giving of a gift in recognition of friendship helps the children to define their behaviours toward their own friends.

the boat is actually a lot bigger then i expected, and has Lots of different areas to press that makes sounds it lights up too which is also a bonus, the tank inside also gives the illusion of filling and emptying. The Twirlywoos use funny sounds to accompany movements on screen and this helps children focus attention and imitate the movements themselves. The series was co-created by Teletubbies devisor Anne Wood, and Steve Roberts, Wood’s co-creator of the BAFTA-winning CBeebies series Dipdap. My couple of little negatives with the boat are that there is no volume adjustment and so it can get a bit loud after a while and that Peekaboo's hideaway door comes off easily which of course once my daughter discovered, she has to pull the door of each time she plays with the boat now! Whether in the real world or on their big red boat, they love to hide, imitate and be surprised as they discover fresh things”.

In Wednesday’s episode, Down, the Twirlywoos have a high speed encounter with a runaway roller-skate. Twirlywoos helps children to understand the notion of cause and effect throughout the narrative - and often in a very funny way, which itself helps cement an understanding the concept. This is a fantastic toy which is aimed at 18months and over and as the smallest piece is Peekaboo, I personally would have been happy for my daughter to play with this with careful supervision from maybe 12months on but that's a decision to be made by the parents concerned. When we were asked whether we would like to have a little play with the Twirly Woos Big Red Boat of course I said yes!Very young children are learning how to move their bodies and music is a fantastic way to inspire movement. Whether in the real world or on their boat, they love to hide, imitate and be surprised as they discover new things. Turn the wheel on the back of funnel to hear fun bird sounds and watch as they spin on the boat’s mast, promoting hand to eye co-ordination.
