About this deal

As crazy as it sounds, my brothers, sister, sisters in laws, nephew, daughter and husband and I, all play among us every week online. Howie and Ryan were the most sympathetic of the group due to home life backstory and feelings of not belonging, even amongst friends. With four teenage friends on bikes - set in the 80s - who unwittingly unleash an evil imprisoned in the woods, this story is everything you could want from COA tale. One of the things that I like about this book is that we spend some time getting to know the core cast before the paranormal shenanigans really get rolling.

i did feel the very end (last couple of paragraphs) were quite cheap, it didnt need to be there and the book would have ended fine. This is now right up there with Brian Keene's Ghoul when it comes to my favorite coming-of-age horror book. What I liked: The story takes place in a very small town, twenty years after a horrendous murder rocked the peaceful place. This was a coming-of-age, small-town horror blast, one that I think a lot of people will really enjoy. On a beautiful fall day, they decide to go out in the woods to film a horror movie when they stumble across a mysterious grave.Overall, I highly recommend "Cursed Among Us" to anyone who enjoys a good coming-of-age horror or a small-town horror. You’ll be able to gallop your way throughout the various space maps on your four strong horse legs as you either kill your crewmates or complete your tasks. I liked the core plot, but I think we’re missing some information because I was left with a lot of questions.

The Cursed Among Us is a horror novel with its heart in the right place-ready to be ripped out Containing surprising and sometimes stunning emotional depth, this homage to '90s B-movies and supernatural documentaries explores the agony of growing up and holding onto friendships when the world seems determined to rip everything you love apart. Each of these teenagers have their own private horror stories they carry with them, whether it’s in their personal lives, their social lives being peppered with bullies, or the curse that is about to be unleashed on them by accident. the woods that are off limits due to it being the burial site of a serial killer from a couple decades prior. The storytelling was fast paced, keeping you interested in all of the side stories and main story alike. Not to say there isn’t a lot of collateral damage throughout, but it really did work to finish the story off.For example, Howie is jealous of Ryan for having really sweet and loving parents while poor Ryan is just desperately trying to make friends and keep them. As for the narration, Joe Hempel did an excellent job, but even that wasn't enough to make me love it. Containing surprising and sometimes stunning emotional depth, this homage to '90s B-movies and supernatural documentaries explores the agony of growing up and holding onto friendships when the world seems determined to rip everything you love apart. Plenty of emotion is filled within the pages, each main character has good back story about their home life which adds substance to them.
