Shot in his own personal vehicle around Xmas time it has a kind of gritty feel to it, but he has some interesting things to say about his films and the actors and directors he worked with, and about a lost film-within-a-film for Rob Zombie's LORDS OF SALEM, which starred Udo Kier and Clint Howard, but was cut from the final film. And having a cast ensemble with unfamiliar faces and talents is usually something I enjoy when I watch a movie, but "Debbie Does Demons" was just not my cup of tea.

On tonight’s episode of Debbie Does Demons, Debbie (Angel Nichole Bradford, Wolf Hollow, Backwoods Bubba)tells us the story of Carmilla Karnstein (Jessa Flux, Murdercise, Satan Lives: The Rise of the Illuminati Hotties). Gary Carper Allen Richards Jason Wallace John Meacham Robert Bess Jamie Robert MacDougall Alain Marche Stephen Kessen Steven Gray Rob Mahoney Marvin Maddicks Jr. Somehow, she’s gone from being a vampire to being a powerful witch, but she’s still extremely dangerous and very scantily clad, as the witch hunter Mocata (Jocephus Brody, Hurt Doll, Bigfoot Exorcist) finds out. Jessa Flux, who has been popping up in quite a few shot on video schlock movies in the last five years or so (and not all of them are Donald Farmer movies…though some of them are) is fun to watch as the buxotic villainess, chewing the scenery and strutting her stuff with plenty of welcome bravado. Donald Farmer’s newest film might be the closest he’s ever come to capturing the fun and mood of his early films.

She’s just so genuine and strong and pretty and positive vibes that it works perfectly for becoming and absolute indie horror scream queen legend. And yet, I still opted to sit down and watch the movie, on account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, much less heard about.

A small group of friends gets liquored up and summon a witch that they saw on the tv show Debbie Does Demons. While Debbie (Angel Nichole Bradford) is a lot of fun and Carmilla Karnstein (Jessa Flux) does her part to ham and bare all for the picture, the script just isn't much, the sets look like they were shot at an airBnB, the effects are sorely lacking, and the film fails to live up to is promise. In the end, Debbie Does Demons is less of a horror film, erotic or otherwise, and more a collection of bad jokes and reasons for Jessa to say “Boo!Whether or not you like how it turned out will depend on your tolerance for cheesy send ups of genre clichés and willingness to overlook some obvious gaffes, such as anachronistic inscriptions on the tombstones, obviously blown lines of dialogue and characters who need to have things they already know explained to them. Unfortunately, the episodic nature of Debbie Does Demons means it never has a chance to build the kind of atmosphere that fits these images.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Debbie Does Demons arrives on region free Blu-ray from Culture Shock Releasing in an AVC encoded 1080i transfer framed at 1. After watching this, Lauren (Morrigan Thompson, American Poltergeist: The Curse of Lilith Ratchet, Karate Ghost) who’s a descendant of Carmilla, and her friends Ashley (Roni Jonah, Powerbomb, Wicked Ones), her boyfriend Adam (Adam Freeman, Reunion from Hell, Curse of the Weredeer) and Jan (Dixie Gers, They See You, Crazy Fat Ethel) decide to pull out the Ouija Board and contact her. Their night takes an unexpected turn when they accidentally summon a curvaceous witch named Carmilla (Jessa Flux) who happens to be three hundred years old (but doesn’t look a day over thirty). What the witch doesn’t count on is a local TV talk show hostess named Debbie (Angel Bradford) who just so happens to be an expert on witchcraft and who takes it upon herself to send Carmilla back to the hell from whence she came!
