Which is very close to what MB were as king with labour all in so could be tempted to go with MB direct.I don't want them to take piss and try an tell me it's nothing to avoid having to fix it, I know exactly how to get the light back on if it goes off though, does anyone have any idea on what it could be? Why oh why can’t manufacturers put some kind of indicator in place to tell the driver that the DPF burn is in progress so they can choose to keep going until it completes?

So, different faults but best to just take the wheels back to the dealer wher you bought it from and get them to sort it. I've got a 95 and the hold light has been flashing but I didn't need a voltmeter, the hold light itself flashes the sequence when you short the relevant contacts and turn the ignition on (I have linked to a movie of this in my thread on my own problem. as a precaution they are changing the fuel filter as that has worked on the other cars that have been in. I connected a 4 prong generator inlet to a 2 breaker panel box using an 8/3 service wire (2 hots, a ground, and neutral).With hindsight I should have tried removing and cleaning up the Throttle Body Unit on the front myself. Rather like booting up a computer in Safe Mode, one has top be grateful that the car is running at all. I removed the switch thinking that was the issue and rewired the light directly to the wire going to the breaker box, but the light still didn't work. First time in the day I drive the car it all works fine, the next time I drive it flashes the glow plug icon and shows the start stop system failure.
