About this deal

Looking at the earlier editions they were clearly written for the stay-at-home wife and her daughters, right up to those published in the 1970's. I’m guessing that the only differences in each edition is the addition of new recipes with any existing recipes staying the same. I have had my 39th edition since the early 90s and can find the recipes I use most often very easily, the pages stick together! It can take some time keeping up with everyone's blogs, there's some which I've been following for years now.

Alternatively, you may be involved in a cleanup operation or enjoy finding books that will make you some extra cash.Is there a kind soul on here who has it and would he able to send me the flapjack recipe until I get a replacement? Bonus: AIBU to LTB for throwing out what is obviously a cookbook on the shelf next to all the other cookbooks "by mistake"? Over the decades well loved recipes have gradually been changed and new ones added to meet modern tastes and appetites as well as fashions in food. I have a friend who introduces me to her friends as the “chocolate cake” lady after I made a chocolate cake for a BBQ and everyone, apparently, loved it after I’d had to leave early. An era qualified as 1990s but also an intended audience qualified as adults and also to a language -> english. More to the point - where can you still get Be-Ro flour - it is the finest (texture) and the best (IMO). I remember using a very similar Be-Ro recipe book when I was a child, though I'm not saying it was the first edition, I wonder how long my mum had had that book, it was very well used. You may also like to try Victoria Sandwich, either plain or as a chocolate cake or add currants to the mixture and make Queen cakes. A copy of one of the more recent editions of the Be-Ro book is a sine qua non of any working cookery book collection. As a result, a free recipe book was produced and handed out at the exhibitions as well as door to door. These were so popular that people demanded to have copies of the recipes so that they could bake the dishes at home.

If you're an Easyjet passenger who was issued a voucher during the Covid-19 pandemic, you've less than one week left to use it before it expires on 31 January 2024. Being married in 1950 it seems logical that she would have first made them some time between those dates. No idea on the difference in the recipes now, but I grew up cooking with this book and we always just used to completely interchange marg and butter (if it was for a special occasion/bake sale we'd always use butter).

Be-Ro recipe books came up at one of our recent tea parties – afterwards I mentioned to a friend that I still had my mum’s old copy. This is an excellent book giving hundreds of traditional and innovative recipes which are easy to understand and exciting to use. I've also got the 40th edition and confirm there is no flapjack recipe, but seeing as Be-ro is a brand of flour, and flapjacks don't contain flour, are you sure it was a bero recipe? So many people swear by the Be-Ro book, I think it's because it doesn't just assume that you know all the terms and explains things. Sadly my father binned so many of my mother's old cook books (and other things) after she died, thinking he would never need them.
