About this deal

Dungeon Masters will gain inspiration for bringing giants to life, from maps of giant-built sites and big new monsters to tremendous treasures and intriguing trinkets in a giant’s bag! It’s possible that other products (such as DM screens and tie-in adventures) will also be coming out after launch, although nothing has officially been announced by Wizards of the Coast. com/dnd/bigby-presents-glory-of-the-giants-review) - I think it's a really strong resource for DMs who need Giant-related ideas. Offers a plethora of tools for Dungeon Masters including lair maps, adventure hooks, encounter tables, treasures, and giant roleplaying inspiration.

Some ancient cloud giants do retain ownership of floating castles which exist high above the clouds. Discerning players can gain a lot from balancing the expenditure of spell slots and these invocations as long as they properly understand the risk of cutting off access to any specific spell. There are mechanics and maps in Glory of the Giants, but my single favorite part of the book was advice for DMs on how to depict giants in a game, and especially ground-level tips on how to do things like convey how much bigger they are than the characters – maybe standing up while speaking at the giant, a bit of boom to your voice, or a some rumble to the table. And there are even some giant things that have nothing to do with giants – dinosaurs, “giant” versions of more animals, a couple colossi. Purchasing this bundle unlocks the Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants book in digital format in the game compendium with all the artwork and maps, cross-linking, and tooltips.

Following in footsteps of Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons is Bigby Presents Glory of the Giants, although I suppose that given their ancient rivalry the giants might prefer to think of themselves as making even bigger footsteps over the footsteps of the dragons.

There are also more than 70 pages of bestiary for when the DM does want to have fights against giants.

Offers a plethora of tools for Dungeon Masters including lair maps, detailed lore, adventure hooks, encounter tables, treasures, and giant roleplaying inspiration. Instead, he’s been reincarnated as a gnome after being crushed by a giant (something which will be covered in greater detail in the book). You will find a look at their mythical history, but it’s about the giant all-father and his children and his disappointment with the giants and then the book pulls that material into how giant society functions and judges its members and their actions. Chapter 6: Bestiary: The final chapter of the book features over 70 new monster stat blocks, including death giants, gargantua, ettin variants, elemental hulks, undead giants and even kaiju. Path of the Giant barbarians can also fool around out of combat, with the third-level ability to learn the druidcraft or thaumaturgy cantrip opening up creative possibilities that other DnD barbarians might not be able to access. The most interesting twist on the formula comes in the ability to invoke an inscribed rune without using a spell slot or material components with the side effect of locking out use of the spell until the next long rest. Notably, some of these elements were previously released and playtested in the “ Giant Options” Unearthed Arcana. That book provided players and DMs with an in-depth view of all-things related to dragons, including a number of new races, spells, magic items and adventure ideas.

Both of these options provide interesting magical potential and roleplaying opportunities alike, as characters with deep connections to giants are unlikely to encounter many people who share their experiences in most campaign settings. Earning enough XP can infuse the weapons that raging Path of the Giant barbarians use with extra power and eventually increase their size to Huge if they so choose. The principal shared features of the two Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants subclasses are the knowledge of the Giant language and the ability to tap into the magic of the giants, although the latter feature presents itself in very different forms. Depending on the player and dungeon master, a barbarian transformed through rage can either maintain their fundamental appearance at a larger scale or change into a giant-like or even Elemental form. Here Bigby and the demigod Diancastra, child of the giants' All-Father, Annam, unveil the secrets of Annam's mighty descendants. giants attempt at humor to lead off this review, you won’t find much of that here either, because it doesn’t really say much about using the giants in a game (there is a section on having characters deal with the fallout as larger creatures battle without regard for the common folk, and that could be a giant vs. Also, for reasons unclear to me, there’s a Cheshire cat (don’t get me wrong, it’s neat, I’m just not sure why this is the book it showed up in).
