As much as Lake and I try to do the responsible thing, sometimes it’s hard to draw the line between being the rule enforcer and being the sibling. I realize I'm being a bit sarcastic here, but this plot device is just so overdone, and completely uninteresting. So if you are someone like me who shies away from the stories in series where a relationship faces a major trial that could break it . Layken and Will are both in the same situation: they're raising their respective siblings while trying to make the transition to adulthood.

He gets their 11 year old neighbor to knock on her door so that he can FORCE HIS WAY INTO HER HOUSE, Y'ALL! For the past year, since Lake and I have been together, Gavin and Eddie have been eating with us at least twice a week.Those of you who have already read it and disliked it, please don't leave hate comments if you didn't love it as much as I did.

You would think, with our living across the street from each other, that we would have all the time in the world together. If I would have been born at eleven-eleven, I’m pretty sure I could have got on the news or something. A new character I quite liked--a neighbor girl with a quirky family--added some charm and humor to Point of Retreat where it was desperately needed.

In the first book, they were kind of cute and meaningful but here, they were just irritating as all hell. Eddie heads across the street to Lake’s house, and Gavin walks inside, tapping his knuckles against the front door. I knew that Lake was going to have issues with this and spend a good deal of time "carving pumpkins" (check out book one to see what this means). The poetry doesn't take as much of a role in this book as in the first book, but it is there, and it is an essential part of the resolution of the issues in this book. Again, no spoilers on here, so I really can't go into much detail about book two without ruining book one for you :( As soon as I read the description, I hesitated yet again to read it.
