I love it when a character speaks in a different language and uses it to say pretty words to another character because they know they won’t understand. It was like wrapping up a season of a television show that you aren’t sure will be renewed—I tried to leave Shand and Ilya in a good place in case I never got the chance to finish their story.

It was easy to see why Ilya found so much pleasure in teasing him until he made him blush and stutter, lose control and beg. The same goes for his portrayal of Canadian , all around good guy, sweet , friendly and charismatic , Good Boy of Hockey Shane Hollander. If you are someone (like me) who likes the sheets to get messed up early on in the book, then you won’t be disappointed.

I like how Ilya’s family issues was handled, kudos for not letting that drag out throughout the story.She pushed me to make each sex scene more romantic, and each emotional moment sweeter and more impactful. I really enjoyed the first book in this series Game Changer I mean who doesn't love a good gay "sports" romance ? His language skills grew, but small tidbits here and there always reminded me that he was still learning and not as comfortable with the English language as a native speaker would be. I mean they were bitter rivals on ice so maybe in that regard but I don’t think as human beings they ever hated each other , maybe I misread their dynamics . Surrounded by love, Shane’s only problem was his lack of interest in women, so he ended up depending only on his encounters with Ilya for years.

The sex scenes are a lot in this book but they are part of the story, and the chemistry between the MCs makes it worth it. I know I already said this, but they had so much sex that my brain became damaged from its repetitiveness. These two MCs are so well written, so well developed and the chemistry they have is out of this world. They lived in different cities for 99% of the book, and rarely saw each other more than a few times a year.

However, under all that mockery, perky humor, and interesting character lies a side of him stowing away. Shane e soprattutto Ilya sono due personaggi meravigliosi, così veri, con i loro dubbi e i loro battibecchi.

The chapter ended there, and while the next started with them playing video games (think FIFA but the hockey version), it later turns into them having sex. It was fun to see how they pushed each other in the rink plus that competitiveness made their attraction even more sexy.I was surprised how much I liked the way that story was structured and the angst was what I like nothing OTT.
