He has spent his whole career at Laurent-Perrier, from humble beginnings as a cellar worker, before rising to become a supervisor, then head of the cellar. A greater proportion of Chardonnay grape is used in La Cuvee, almost twice that commonly found in other champagne, giving the expression greater freshness and elegance. Only 24 iterations have been produced in 65 years in Laurent Perrier's quest to find 'The perfect vintage champagne'.

Mathilde hired Alexander Fletcher Keith Mackenzie to introduce and market Laurent-Perrier in the UK. It is produced from 100% Pinot Noir with a controlled period of maceration to extract the gorgeous salmon-pink colour and the full aromatic richness of the variety. It's not going to keep quiet as you enjoy your Valentine's dinner but may do a certain amount of interrupting.

The iconic Cuvée Rosé is made using the highest quality Pinot Noir grapes and is one of the few rosé Champagnes produced by drawing the juice from black grapes instead of blending red and white wines. A greater proportion of reserve wines are also used, providing a more consistent house style between harvests. Today, with Bernard’s daughters Alexandra and Stéphanie on the Management Board, the House of Laurent-Perrier is one of the great success stories in Champagne and is the largest independent Champagne brand worldwide. He selects grapes from the best areas of the Champagne vineyards, vinifies each batch separately and monitors the blends with high standards.

The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers. On July 7th, 2023, Maximilien Bernardeau was appointed Cellar Master and Wine Manager of the Laurent-Perrier Group, reporting to Michel Fauconnet.The result is outstanding, lovely darker red fruits dominate this easy to drink rosé and it is no wonder it has so many fans.
