Poor old Robot (spoiler alert) leaves his mechanical bottom on a swing at the park and getting it back is problematic. You could make robot hands with magnets attached and investigate where they are attracted to in the classroom. Already we're wondering how he ends up with no bottom, and whether the inside of the story will be as funny as the outside. In 2006 she met Paul Linnet and could instantly see that she’d met a fellow nitwit who liked talking nonsense. Find out in this laugh-out-loud, fun-filled story from the brilliant brains behind Supertato, Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell, Barry the Fish with Fingers and more!

I can’t recommend any of the Sue Hendra books highly enough, seriously if you’ve never read any of her books then you MUST!

The story is well-timed, and the ending is brilliant - my daughter laughed really hard when she saw what he'd left behind on the swing at the end! There we have him, our little red robot, holding onto his bottom and giving a coy-looking smile to us as readers. He studied Graphic Design at Derby University, and later moved back to Brighton where he met Sue Hendra. We also use different external services like Google Webfonts, Google Maps, and external Video providers. Download the progression document which includes statements from Development Matters (birth to age five) and the relevant ELGs in full for the find No-bot’s bottom adult led activity here.In a word; Hilarious… It's a genius story which is brilliantly illustrated with bright and vibrant colours and child friendly characters. We have put together some useful information about the science of magnets to accompany this activity. Attach the other materials to the spare bottoms in the same position as the magnets on the first bottom. Sue Hendra is the wonderfully funny, award-winning author and illustrator of some of our favourite picture books, like Barry the Fish with Fingers and Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell.

My favourite picture is the second to last picture because it shows his arm has come of and attached to the swing right acts he said he won’t lose anything again. As she got older the prospect of going away to study art at university and LEAVE HOME was very enticing.

It inspired them to create their own robot and consider digital technology with regards to circuits etc. Bird was using it as a nest, but it was too heavy; Bear used it in his drum kit, but it was too tinny; the Squirrels built sandcastles with it.
