I hope that's true, and whether we get it on disc or not may very well rest on how well this disc sells. Too often now, Warner Bros seem to want to put the least amount of work into their releases for top money.

I remember how raunchy and risqué Soap was considered to be - and how tepid it is now in comparison. Even better still were the shots of all the uniforms on display, looking very nifty, together with the very shiny bracelets /necklace’s on display.That's indeed why they made it very apparent they were robots, so parents wouldn't feel it's overly violent. Which brings me to yet another of my eccentricities: most of my 1970's-to-present-time home video collection is focused around re-creating the way I experienced all this filmed entertainment back in my faded youth. I do find it striking to compare Tom Baker's first season to Space:1999, which both premiered in 1975. It was one of a few films released in Sensurround which gives it some epic bass in the space fighter scenes and the Galactica's engines too. boosted well above the now-antiquated Blu-ray for image stability, natural format sharpness, and overall clarity.

For its release on Ultra HD, the original camera negative and interpositive visual effects footage were scanned in 4K.That made sense since the original plan was to just film several feature-length made-for-TV movies, but then decided on a full series after some back-and-forth.

The quality of that audio however isn't very smooth; it sounds made up or has some kind of characteristic like it was generated somehow with a weird buzzing sound or whatever. I remember reading the star-field background were made to look good on the small screen and the models were overly weathered so they register on television. If the left and right channels are already discrete it seems like not much more effort to pipe some of that to the rear speakers.
