Within an enclosed container, XIKAR 2-Way Humidity Control monitors the ambient RH (relative humidity) and adds or removes moisture to maintain the specific RH engineered into the pack.

Because it's impossible for Boveda to humidify beyond the RH on the pack, it's impossible to use "too much" – although bear in mind that packs with different RH levels shouldn't be mixed within the same container, as they'll be in conflict with each other.They are guaranteed to provide a constant level of humidity that never fluctuates or cycles-preserving your cigar’s natural oils and sugars, allowing them to improve with age. Up until now, the largest and most popular size (60 grams) has been Boveda’s bread and butter for wood humidor maintenance. The actual RH will be held at a constant level of one to four points lower than the level stated on the packet, depending on the barrier properties and/or quality of the humidor.

Up to a 25-count cigar humidor (For larger humidors, use one Size 60 for every 25 cigars your humidor can hold. The 320g is designed for larger humidors containing up to 150 cigars for a period of 2-3 years, or can be used in smaller humidors for a longer length of time. Simply place the correct number of Bóveda packets inside your humidor to maintain a precise relative humidity. Within a closed desktop humidor Bóveda maintains a predetermined level of (RH) by releasing or absorbing purified water-vapor—as needed—through the membrane. Use (1) Boveda Size 60 for every 25 TOTAL cigars each humidor can hold or use (1) Size 320 for every 100 cigars your humidor can hold.Added 2 60 gram 65% packs to my Newair 250 plus 3 320 gram 65% packs to get my Humidor to 65° RH with 150 cigars.

I even started an overflow humidor with an airtight brilliance container, plopped a 69% 60 gram in, and the humidity leveled out within a few hours. It's common that the actual RH of your humidor will stabilize up to 5 points lower than the Boveda RH you’re using, due to humidor quality and ambient dryness. In just a few days it is running a consistent 68-69% RH, and has been holding for a couple weeks without fail.
