About this deal

I used to think that if I wanted it bad enough, wished hard enough, everything would work out the way it was supposed to. The novel begins one year after "The Summer I Turned Pretty" ends, with Belly having a daydream about being back at Cousins Beach with the Fishers. I felt like I actually understood Conrad far less at the end of this book than I did at the end of the first one, Belly regressed a lot and Jeremiah wasn't the same person as the first book. And Jeremiah, his younger brother, is still Belly’s best friend – but maybe friendship isn’t enough for him anymore. I turned my head away from her and she said, 'How about I French braid your hair for the party tonight?

If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started—at Cousins Beach. star higher than the first book was because apparently Belly was "slightly better" in this book, so I'm just gonna believe my past self and say that THAT is the reason. I shrieked and there was Cory Wheeler, crouched down next to me with a dripping Coke can in his hand, laughing his head off. At Susannah's funeral, Belly catches Conrad in his room with another girl, and they have a fight in which Belly tells Conrad to go to hell, and that she hates him.She is still pining over Conrad and yet, the first real chance she gets to lock lips with Jeremiah, she jumps right in, managing to hurt Conrad in the process, like somehow although she's known all along that he really loves her, being kissed by his brother, convinces her that she is suddenly over him. It’s another relatively short novel, and the overarching dilemma faced by the characters feels a bit weak to me. From the author of To All The Boys I've Loved Before (now a smash-hit Netflix movie), p erfect for fans of The Kissing Booth, Rainbow Rowell and Holly Bourne. Jenny Han is the New York Times bestselling author of The Summer I Turned Pretty series; Shug; the Burn for Burn trilogy, cowritten with Siobhan Vivian; and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P. These two brothers have just lost their mother and are dealing with that grief, so Belly, maybe it shouldn't be all about you just this once.

Many of the characters gain some much needed depth to their personas, including Belly’s mum, as they all grapple with their grief over Suzannah’s death. I mean how could anybody not adore this guy especially since in this book we got snippets of his POV allowing us to get know him on a deeper level. I've been watching the TV series too and then reading the book in between episode release dates and it's the best thing ever!First, before Susannah's death, she made Belly promise that she would always look after Conrad no matter how much he pushed her away. The third and final installment in Han's book series, "We'll Always Have Summer," brings the entire Cousins crew's saga to a close — but we'll have to wait to see that on the small screen in season three! Conrad bites back by telling Belly he should have never started a romance with her, as she is just a kid. She refuses to see how Conrad is not the "perfect" guy and that he is struggling with the death of his mother, the potential loss of their beach house, and anger at his father. Belly did get on my nerves a little bit at certain parts but overall I love that she is a real character with flaws.
