Flymo likes to come out with mowers that have that one feature you have always sought after. The roller is the most important feature on this machine, and even the entry-level model, the 300R has one. For the price, it is one of the least expensive electric mowers with a roller that you can find currently on the market. Flymo is perhaps one of the most well-recognised names in the lawn mower industry, with its bright orange accents, it is known all over the world. Their EasiStore 340R is a cordless mower that gives its rivals a real run for their money and with a decent 34cm cutting width is ideal for the domestic gardener. However, if you need something even smaller, the EasiStore does have a younger brother with a 30cm cutting width – no one can say that this brand doesn’t offer diversity and a mower for every need. The large diameter rear wheels on the 340R and 380R make traversing uneven ground easier. And the larger wheels also cope better with the increase in weight as the grass box becomes full. Safety Features However, once things got sorted out and the mower finally got to the lawn, the performance certainly didn’t disappoint. The height adjustment on the smaller Flymo EasiStore 300R is not so clever. There is no central lever and this mower offers a reduced number of 3 cutting heights. If you are looking for a smaller 30cm model, then having a wide range of cutting heights may not be a requirement. Roller (Stripes)

The Flymo EasiMow 340R, the 300R and 380R, are fitted with a rear roller. As I mentioned earlier, this makes it a much more stable piece of equipment, but that’s not the main function of this part. The rear roller allows you to create a striped lawn so if you want a more traditional looking garden, you can do this with ease. The rear roller also makes the mower more stable particularly when cutting close or over the edge of flower beds. With the Flymo EasiStore range, it is suitable for homeowners with the roller being a higher priority over the mulching function — and for this size of the mower, it is the choice you will have to make. And the 380R has a 38-centimetre blade, with a cutting area of 0.45m² that is 60% greater than that of the 300R. This improvement in the cutting area is more efficient for power consumption, and you are going to be cutting more grass with each step taken. The easy carry handle means that even if it is a generous walk to your lawn front from the storage space, carrying the mower will not be a strain. Plus, the super lightweight design of the mower adds to this – it weighs just 13kg.The Flymo EasiStore 340R sits on four plastic wheels that make pushing it along a breeze. If storage space comes at a premium in your house, the Flymo EasiStore 340R can solve a lot of problems for you. It’s very easy to fold down and store it in tight spaces, and you can transport it anywhere you need effortlessly. The large and non-compressible grass box’s design means that you can store it on the rear — using the mower as a stand.The Flymo EasiMow 340R is a nifty, lightweight little lawn mower that has seriously impressed me. It’s not a mower that’s got the most features and cutting functions in the world, but it’s got more than enough to deliver a fantastic cut. For example, a rear roller and cut to edge which adds that little extra something to make your lawn stand out from the rest. One of the downsides of this compact mower is that it does not have a mulching option. This is quite uncommon in the world of cordless lawn mowers as many of them allow users to take advantage of this feature. Though the EasiStore is simple, there are some clever additions to make this mower more compact than other machines of a similar size. Being able to adjust the height of your mower is essential in keeping your lawn healthy. During the summer months, it pays to cut the lawn a little shorter whereas the colder weather will require a slightly longer cut.

Mulching can be a good option for those that want to fertilize their lawns organically. But grass clippings scattered over a lawn tend to make it look messy. And if you have a roller, you will want to have the lawn as clipping-free as you can get it to enhance the striping effect. For this reason mulching and rear rollers do not normally go well together. The electric corded EasiStore models are supplied with a 10-metre power cable – this applies to all 300R, 340R, or 380R models. One of the main differences relates to the size of the motor, where the base model – the 300R has a 1200-watt motor, and weighs less than 9kg. The 380R has a 1600-watt motor, which increases the total weight to 12.6kg. Practicalities If there was ever a mower that was as practical as they come, this is it. I have touched on the dual lever handles that make operating this mower nothing short of a dream, but this is far from being the only feature that adds to the practical nature of this machine. You can wrap the excess power cable around the cable hanger to prevent twisting or getting caught up in the blade if you happen to run over it. As I mentioned earlier, one of the most notable features of this lawn mower is the addition of the dual lever operation on the handles. This gives you much greater flexibility and makes moving the mower around the garden a lot less hard work.

Space-Saving Design: Save valuable space in your sheds or garages with the vertical storage solution The EasiStore range does not have a mulching blade, and neither does it have a mulching plug. Mulching is good if you worry about binning the grass clippings, or local town management has made it costly to do so. You have a choice of five cutting heights with the Flymo EasiMow 340R and these range between 20mm and 60mm. The 20mm minimum is great for people who like to keep their grass very short, but the higher end of the scale could be a little more generous, in my opinion, as some mowers go up to 75mm allowing them to cut longer grass. If you like a striped lawn then a roller is an essential feature of a lawn mower and this has not been omitted on this Flymo EasiStore 340R. The rear roller can be used to create that neat striped design that is so widely favoured by lawn enthusiasts the world over. Mulching Mode Flymo EasiStore mowers use modern brushless motors. Brushless are considered to be more efficient than the classic design of a brush motor. Brushless motors also tend to be less prone to burnout or fatigue.
