Description

While the X-T30 relies on Fujifilm lenses that feature the company’s Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to provide compensation from camera shake (and the level of compensation is dependent on the lens), the X-S10 benefits from Fujifilm’s in-body image stabilization (IBIS). This is the third time we’ve seen this in-body system in a Fujifilm camera, following both the X-H1 and X-T4. The rear screen has a tilt action but no sideways tilt, so it’s great for low or high angle shots with the camera held horizontally, but not so good for vertical shots, where you have to get yourself at eye level with the screen.

Given that we’ve seen the X-T30 II’s sensor in multiple cameras, we didn’t expect any surprises when it came to image and video quality. In fact, this sensor is probably the best APS-C sensor on the market right now, so you’re all but assured of good image quality. The X-T30 was succeeded by the XT-30 II which was announced on September 2, 2021. [4] Differences from the X-T20 [ edit ] The autofocus does solid work, but the manual is much better, especially for accurate close-up shots. The image quality is quite lovely as well. At f/2.8, I got excellent sharpness across the frame, and the lens does an excellent job with portraits. Increased speed of burst shooting to 20 fps when using the electronic shutter, or 30 fps in 1.25 crop mode (16.6 MP) The focusing system is fast and accurate. It did not cause any focusing issues during the testing and operated smoothly, even in low-light situations.Still pictures: Standard output sensitivity equivalent to ISO 160 – 12800 in increments of 1/3 EV; AUTO; extended output sensitivity equivalent to ISO 80, 100, 125, 25600, or 51200 An abundance of features on this midrange camera meet the technical and creative needs for most photographers who prefer to have full control over their picture-taking. Like other Fujifilm X-series cameras, the love it or hate it (I love it) retro look, feel and operation of the X-T30 provides a unique photographic experience that will motivate you to think more seriously about making pictures. Read the rest of our Fujifilm X-T30 review to see what else we liked, as well as sample photos and video. It's safe to say that Fujifilm hasn’t done much more than tweak the original X-T30 for the Mark II iteration, although that’s not necessarily a bad thing when you’re working with some pretty impressive features in the first place. A good example is the same 26.2MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor. This is Fujifilm’s current top-line sensor, also found in its higher-end cameras, so you can’t get better than that.

There’s just one memory card slot, which is to be expected on a mid-range camera like the Fujifilm X-T30 II. It’s an SD/HC/XC compatible slot, but it’s a shame not to see it offering UHS-II, especially considering how fast this camera can shoot. It’s also a little awkwardly placed if you’re using a tripod – you’ll find it behind the same door as the battery, next to the tripod thread, rather than behind a separate door on the side of the camera. Fujifilm X-T30 II review: features and performance Autofocus system: Intelligent hybrid AF (TTL contrast-detect/phase-detection AF) with AF-assist illuminator All of the images were well exposed, even in low-light situations. The general sharpness is satisfactory, with lovely details and high contrast across the frame. I want to point out that the sharpness across the entire frame at f/4 is quite good, without any quality loss. At 10mm, I found traces of distortion at the sides, depending on the structure photographed. The frame rate and number of frames per burst varies with shooting conditions and type of memory card used. The lenses that fit on a Fuji camera depend on its mount type. For X-T30, that would be the Fujifilm X-mount lenses. Is Fujifilm X-T30 professional? Lenses from other brands can be compatible with the X-T30 provided you use the appropriate lens adapter. However, not all functions may be available. Can I use vintage lenses on the Fujifilm X-T30? The X-T30 has some pretty impressive video features too. It can capture 4K UHD video at 30p, using ‘oversampled’ 6K capture downsampled to 4K for maximum image quality, and it also has Fujifilm’s latest ETERNA cinema film simulation mode. The X-T30 can save 4:2:0 8-bit video internally or 4:2:2 10-bit via HDMI. In 1080p it can shoot up to 60fps or 120fps in High speed rec mode, and it also supports the DCI 17:9 format. In addition to four customizable buttons you can also 'swipe' the X-T30's LCD in one of four directions to adjust settings. The camera offers two different customizable menus so you can set it up the way you'd like. Fujinon XF 50mm f/2 is a weather and dust-resistant lens that can take colds to incredible -10 degrees Celsius. It supports the maximum magnification of 0,15 x and an angle of view of 31,7 degrees.

While not class-leading, the X-T30's AF system is speedy and reliable in most (but not all) situations. The first thing I have noticed about this lens is its size and, consequently, weight. It can be energy-draining to carry this lens around for a prolonged period. All of that aside, if you’re looking for a good-value mid-range camera, especially to take with you on trips, the Fujifilm X-T30 II makes for a very tempting proposition - indeed we think it's one of the best travel cameras you can buy, as well as being one of the best beginner mirrorless cameras. You’ll get fabulous pictures, an attractively styled body, access to a good range of lenses and a slew of useful specs. If you have a little more cash to play with – and don’t mind going a little bigger – it makes sense to plump for the X-S10, but otherwise, there’s a lot to like here. Fujifilm X-T30 II release date and price Note: Battery endurance varies with battery charge level and the figures given above are not guaranteed. Battery endurance will decline at low temperatures. Given that this is the same basic setup as the original X-T30, we were already confident that image quality was going to be great, and we haven’t been disappointed. Colors are beautifully vibrant, and images have bags of detail – and those film simulation modes are always fun to experiment with. The X-S10 is equipped with a in-body stabilization system that can compensate by up to 6 stops. (Image credit: Fujifilm) Fujifilm's designers have even found room for a pop-up flash, though it's not particularly powerful. Auto, Custom 1, Custom 2, Custom 3, color temperature selection, direct sunlight, shade, daylight fluorescent, warm white fluorescent, cool white fluorescent, incandescent, underwater This unit though is a completely new design that’s some 30% smaller than the mechanism found in the X-T4 and sees the X-S10 deliver up to 6 stops of compensation when paired with a Fujifilm lens. Not only does this enhance the performance of OIS-equipped lenses, but means many of Fujifilm’s fast prime lenses that forego OIS can be used at much slow shutter speeds on the X-S10 compared to the X-T30 and still capture images without signs of camera shake.
