Five– Remove the molds from the freezer. Loosen the chocolate by gently stretching the edges of the molds. The chocolate was a little bit sweeter than the rest, which wasn't a problem for me as I have quite the sweet tooth. You can keep them simple, using store-bought ingredients only. Or you can get more creative and make them even more special by using homemade hot cocoa mix.

If you want to color your white chocolate, it's really easy. You just need to add a little melted colored cocoa butter. I like to use cocoa butter colors from chef rubber. About 1 teaspoon for 2 Tablespoons of melted white chocolate and mix. You can store them in the refrigerator, but they will be fine at room temperature in most climates. The outer shell may become a bit foggy if exposed to changes in temperature and moisture, such as moving them in and out of the refrigerator, but they are still perfectly fine to consume and won’t affect the taste. Once you’ve melted the chocolate, paint it into your silicone moulds (two coats should do it). If you’re using harder acrylic moulds, pour the chocolate in and swirl it around to coat it Hot Chocolate Bombs became popular because of a TikTok video, but remain popular, because.. who doesn’t love a bath bomb for their hot milk? There is even a Baby Yoda Hot Chocolate Bomb! We like to make so many versions of these – Snowmen, Grinch, and Christmas themed – or peanut butter, salted caramel, and peppermint flavored.Once all the bombs are sealed, pop them in the freezer for a couple of minutes so the edges will set. While the marshmallows weren't as fluffy as the others, the taste of its chocolate made up for it, which is really the star of the show. Chocolate– You can use milk, semi-sweet or dark; it’s up to you. Chocolate chips work fine; choose a higher-quality brand. You can also use good-quality chocolate bars or baking chocolate. We suggest avoiding the cheaper candy melts, as some are only chocolate-flavoured and contain no chocolate. If you want to use candy melts or chocolate wafers, you will want to ensure they are made with real chocolate. Make sure cocoa butter is listed as one of the ingredients. Allow the completed hot chocolate balls to dry for about one minute, then carefully roll the messy chocolate line in sprinkles to decorate. Fill the pot enough so the bottom of the bowl barely touches the water. Heat over medium-low heat (I use setting four on my stove top) until melted and smooth. Ensure you gently stir the chocolate as it heats to help disperse the heat and prevent it from getting too hot.

Got silicone moulds that come in tray form? Some find cutting the moulds up into individual mould squares makes it easier, as you get more control of the mould when you want to make a chocolate shell since adding the layer of chocolate is easier and less awkward Overall, the only one I really struggled to fall in love with was Sainsbury's Taste The Difference Belgian Dark Chocolate & Valencia Orange Bombe, which may be more suited to those who like their chocolate more on the bitter side. Step 4 - Use a gloved finger to clean off the excess chocolate to make a seamless look or simply roll the bomb in spriles to finish the look. How to use hot chocolate bombs

Asda's hot chocolate bomb wasn't a sphere like the rest so far, but it does exactly the same thing but all in the shape of a reindeer. My first foray into the world of trendy sweets seen on TikTok has certainly been an interesting one and there are certainly ones I would try again. My first ever foray into hot chocolate bombs was with the Moser Roth Belgian Milk Chocolate Bombe from Aldi. The budget supermarket is usually known for its good quality, so I had high hopes.

Interestingly, there was a dark chocolate granule residue left over on the surface when I was nearly finished. Melt the chocolate– Use the microwave to heat the chocolate for 30 seconds. Stir and return to microwave, heating in 15-second increments and stirring after each until fully melted. On the sweeter side were Asda's and Aldi's hot chocolate bombs which proved to make a decent mug of hot chocolate. If you want to make these extra special, try making your marshmallows! It isn’t as complicated as you’d think. Variations Step 3 - Make sure your chocolate is at 90ºF and pour it into the mold. Tap the mold against the table a couple times to release any bubbles. Milk chocolate has more sugar and dairy in it than semi-sweet chocolate so it will melt at a lower temperature. Follow the same process for melting and tempering but I melt in 15-second increments, stirring in between. Never let the milk chocolate go above 86ºF or it will fall out of temper. Melt your chocolate in a microwavable dish in 30-second intervals. Stop once it becomes a runny liquid. You can also melt it in a metal bowl over a pan of boiling water on the hob if you prefer. Step 10 - In one swift move, turn the mold upside down onto the table with a bit of force to get the chocolates to all come out. Assembling the chocolate bombs
