About this deal

If you’re in the market for a powerful, versatile blender that can chop, pulse and whizz through anything from fruits and veggies to nuts and ice cubes, then it’s worth saving up for the Boss To Go. This well-built and chic-looking blender is a cut above the average; fire up the Boss to Go’s 1000W motor, and it scythes through fruit and vegetables alike to create smooth, delicious soups, shakes and smoothies in a matter of seconds. Set up is straightforward – once you’ve loaded your ingredients into one of the 700ml cups, you screw on the powerful Pro Extractor Blade lid and fix it in position on top of the base. You can choose from manual settings, that you can stop and start at your own leisure, and use pulse controls too. Or you can opt for the intuitive ‘Auto-IQ’ one-touch programs, that work for a set time and limit the guesswork. Choose from the likes of the 50-second Blend setting, that works well for drinks with ice and frozen ingredients, or the 60-second Max Blend setting, which is good for use on ingredients with skins or items such as seeds and nuts.

At 1,600W and with Tefal's ‘Powelix Life Blade Technology’, the Infiny Mix is a high-speed design that can carry out a number of blending tasks with pre-programmed one-touch buttons. Choose from specific settings on its stylish and nicely illuminated LED display for Smoothies, Ice crush, Sorbets and Dessert. There’s also a setting to make cleaning the jug easy – we simply placed a tiny drop of washing up liquid in water and pressed the clean setting to dislodge any ingredients under the blade, then gave it a rinse with fresh water. The majority of blenders offer multiple speed settings, which deliver better control over consistency when blending different ingredients. Most have at least two speeds, allowing smoother or chunkier blends; some also have programs designed for specific tasks, such as milkshakes or crushing ice. (We don’t recommend crushing ice in a blender that isn’t designed for the purpose, since it can blunt the blades). If you want a blender to take with you to the gym (or to purée baby food on the go) then a cordless blender in a more compact form will better suit your needs. Rechargeable cordless blenders are smaller and neater, but premium models can be as powerful and fully featured as their worktop counterparts. How many speed settings do I need?

Travel, or portable blenders, are perfect for taking on camping trips, day trips or hikes and other holiday adventures - or simply carrying with you to the gym for post-workout refreshment. A good portable blender will be relatively easy to clean as you don't want to spend hours trying to remove mango pulp from the blades. It will also come with sharp blades and enough power to pulverise more than one beverage per charge. Key specs – Jug capacity: 600ml; Motor power: 350 watts; Speed settings: 2; Size: 550mm x 353mm x 459mm Plastic jugs are lighter in weight but can become scratched and absorb odours over time. Glass jugs, on the other hand, are sturdier and more aesthetically pleasing, but can be very heavy when full. A high-quality BPA-free plastic such as Tritan is strong, light and looks like glass, offering the best of both worlds – but it can be pricey. As well as the end result, we also factor in things such as noise levels, using a decibel metre, and functionality to determine whether it’s the right fit for you and your kitchen. Is it the right size and shape for your worktop? How intuitive is it to use for an average person? All of these questions and testing methods ensure every model on our roundup is the perfect match for someone, no matter your needs or budget.

Key specs – Jug capacity: 1400ml; Motor power: 1000 watts; Speed settings: 3; Size: 443 x 180 x 286mm At 1,000W, it isn’t the most powerful blender we’ve tested, but it provides more than enough punch for your average smoothie. We found it did well to whizz up our raspberry and banana smoothie using the Blend setting, pulling down the ingredients down to blitz in under the allotted 50 seconds. We also tried creating a green smoothie, using a mix of fresh and frozen produce including spinach, broccoli, pear, pineapple and avocado. While it needed a little shake midway through, to encourage some of the spinach at the top to combine, it was able to produce a silky smoothie drink with minimum froth in under a minute. And, although noise decibel levels can ramp up into the 90s, we think the excellent performance of this model makes it well worth the investment. The minimally styled control panel has four pre-set 'Adapti-blend' settings illustrated with icons for juices, soups, smoothies and a handy self-cleaning feature. The difference between a smoothie maker and a blender is that smoothie makers make one drink at a time to minimise waste. Once your smoothie is ready, the jug turns into a cup, so you can grab and go. While you can crush small amounts of ice in this version, we’d suggest opting for a higher-powered model – such as the 900 series – if you’re planning on regularly using it for super-tough jobs.

The best blenders and smoothie makers to buy in 2023

It’s definitely an investment, but the Vitamix A2300i blends effortlessly through all manner of ingredients, crushing ice and smooshing nuts to the exact consistency of your choosing. A 10-year guarantee means many happy years of blending.

Design wise the body is nice and contemporary in its styling with a stainless-steel body and lightweight Tritan jug made from copolyester. This material feels noticeably lighter than your average glass jug and has been designed to reduce odour transfer and staining after each blend - this comes in particularly handy if you're using the blender to mix up warmer ingredients for soups. Kenwood’s Blend-X Pro blitzes with six reinforced blades made of aerospace-grade stainless steel, reaching speeds of up to 30,000rpm using a variable speed dial for precise blending control. This is a blender that means business. The jug is made from glass, which makes it heavier than some of the plastic designs, but it does come with a handle and non-drip spout for pouring, which all adds to its luxury feel. While it doesn't have a cleaning mode on board, it does features dishwasher safe parts that make it easy to keep fresh. The blade cannot be fully submerged in water either but it was easy to clean with washing up liquid and a hot running tap.If you’re blending for the whole family, a larger jug makes sense. For blending soups, it’s worth getting a blender with a heat-proof jug of good capacity to allow room for steam. A specific soup programme will ensure you can blend safely without the risk of damage to your blender or your kitchen from hot liquids. What difference does a higher wattage make? Key specs – Jug capacity: 600ml; Motor power: 600 watts; Speed settings: 1; Size: 330 x 170 x 300mm If you only have specific ingredients in your fridge, you can use the Pantry section of the app, manually tap in what you have and it will recommend suitable recipes. There's also a useful Shopping List section, where you can make a note of ingredients you need to buy. What's more, if you're following a certain diet such as 'diabetic friendly' or want something specifically designed to boost energy, you can tailor which recipes the app recommends to you. Motorsport UK has an exciting vision and strategy set out for the future of Esports and this is a positive step on that journey. We’re looking forward to expanding our presence, engaging with the community and bringing them exciting opportunities like the ROKiT British F4 Esports Championship.”

You'll also expect your portable blender to be, well, portable, as well as light and compact because otherwise, what's the point? For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned.Naturally, that compact design means the working liquid capacity is slightly on the small side at just 600ml in the 900ml jug. The on-the-go tumbler, which you can blend into directly, has the same working capacity so it’s a puzzle why the jug isn’t a little more generous. On the plus side, there are two speeds to choose from, giving this model more options than a single-speed design, and the jug is made from glass, which gives it a more robust feel. Key specs – Jug capacity: 2000ml; Motor power: 1440 watts; Speed settings: 10; Size: 432 x 203 x 279mm The KitchenAid 5KSB8270 comes with a punchy 3.5-peak horsepower motor, which claims to be the most powerful blender on the market - while we were suitably impressed at how well our smoothies and soups blended, the motor can get quite noisy - reaching 106 decibels while we made a banana and raspberry smoothie.
