About this deal

All the kids want a Grealish!' How Surrey barber, who arrived from Iraq at nine with broken English, has become the go-to stylist for Premiership stars Sharon Osbourne, 71, admits she 'could do with putting on a few pounds but her body isn't listening' after dropping 42lbs with weight loss drug Princess Anne 'persuaded Charles to evict Prince Harry and Meghan from Frogmore' claims Omid Scobie in new book The Island of Morovia is shaped like a broken heart. The humans live on one side of the island, and the alkonosts - the bird-people - live on the other. But it wasn't always this way..." With themes of grief, trust, love, and that we have more in common than that which divides us, this is a heartfelt book filled with adventure and stunning storytelling from bestselling Sophie Anderson. About This Edition ISBN:

The Island of Morovia is shaped like a broken heart. The humans live on one side of the island, and the alkonosts - the bird-people - live on the other. But it wasn't always this way. Sophie Anderson is well-known for her powerful and moving stories and personally, I think this is her finest yet. Her characters are always well developed, easy to empathise with and full of life, set in well developed worlds. Dan Walker reveals horror cancer scare that saw him rushed to hospital after his head doubled in size Strictly's Bobby Brazier reveals the two words he would say to his late mother Jade Goody as he dedicates emotional dance to herSophie Anderson’s latest novel again has its source in Slavic folklore as she re-imagines the Russian folk poem ‘Nightingale the Robber’. Here, though, she creates an entirely new fantasy world in the floating island of Morovia, where humans live on one side of the island and alkonosts, the bird-people, live on the other. The two peoples once lived in harmony until the singing magic of the alkonosts was blamed for the tragedy that divided the island. Linnet, a 13-year-old alkonost, longs to be able to sing magic and to unite the land and return her people from banishment. Linnet’s quest for unity and understanding sees her embark on a dangerous journey, braving treacherous swamps, alligator pools and a dank fortress prison. Linnet is brave, persistent, and kind and learns that friendship and understanding are more important than magic in uniting her broken island and its divided peoples.

I loved how this book had a sprinkle of one of her other books and my goodness did this grab the heart strings and give them the biggest pull. Katie Price and Carl Woods 'split AGAIN' as they unfollow each other on social media... weeks after she tried on a white gown for their 'secret wedding' Dan Walker is seen for the first time after detailing his horror cancer scare as he arrives at Strictly studios to watch BBC showThis book made me cry it hit my heart with it speaks about grief, it is what needs to be heard and even me as an older person this hit me in the feels. The characters I am always rooting for when it comes to Sophie’s books and I always feel that I care so much. I love how I am thrown into a world and I fall whole heartedly and can I wait for the next one, no but I will and I will love it and I will be raving about this book again to the people I teach yes yes I will because everyone needs to hear about how amazing Sophie Anderson is.
