Fold the side panels in half longways to find the center. Measure 3 ¼″ down from the top at the center and mark with a fabric marker. Then, make marks 1.5″ to the left and right of that center mark. Finally, make a mark 2.5″ directly below each of the three marks you just made. Connect all the marks to form a rectangle then, cut it out. Start with a basic jumpsuit, preferably in a brown or tan color. Use fabric paints or markers to create the appearance of rusted metal and add Wall-E's signature details, such as buttons and switches. You can also attach small cardboard pieces or foam to create the robot's various components. The easiest way that I found to replicate these curves was to trace the safety glasses. Position the safety goggles into the glasses with the goggles facing down. You'll want to place cardboard vertically up against the goggles, and trace the curvature of goggles onto the cardboard. Do this for the nose curves as well. You can bend the cardboard to wrap around this curve pretty easily. Close the top 4 flaps of the box and tape closed. Do NOT bend the bottom flaps. Keep them connected.
