The design of the ROG Zephyrus G14 isn’t just functional either, it looks purposeful and stylish. You might assume a device shooting for portability like this might want to be understated or, go completely the other way and have the word ‘gamer’ displayed in RGB lighting. This laptop manages to sit gloriously in the middle. Its design feels carefully thought out, with neatly placed angular geometry and an interesting pinhole pattern across the lid. It can catch eyes but it never screams at you. But, if you can afford it, you are rewarded with an outstanding gaming experience. During our testing, it shrugged off Cyberpunk 2077, blazed through Dirt 5, and coped with everything else we threw at it without even a slight complaint. And while that 18-inch display is not 4K, its picture quality is absolutely fantastic, with superb clarity and stunning colors. The Asus Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (2023) is another immense laptop from Asus and just when you thought it couldn’t come up with much else. Asus ROG laptops have been excellent for some time and the Zenbook S range has shone brightly too. The Zenbook Pro 14 OLED sees Asus decide that it needs a machine to challenge the beloved MacBook Pro too, and it’s definitely in the conversation. Coupled with the powerful yet efficient 10th Gen Ice Lake processors, you will be able to do more while out and about. This is paired with nippy DDR4 memory and fast PCIe NVMe storage, so you will be spending more time doing and less waiting. Also worth noting is the ASUS Laptop A416 and A516 both come with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 pre-installed, so you are ready to go pretty much instantly after you unbox the laptop. To determine if it’s potent enough for everyday tasks and some light work, we put the VivoBook through our usual set of benchmark tests. Below are the names and specs of the competition we’ll be measuring its results against. The brand of product you buy can vary in importance, from person to person. Some people will of course be much more particular about the brands they will use. Whilst others aren’t interested in the brand and are more interested in the overall quality or price of the product itself. Thankfully Asus is a brand that many customers have grown to love over the years and is very popular for items in the Laptops and netbooks category. While the design may be a tad uninspiring, the Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED (2023) is an excellent laptop that is hiding some serious power under its rather understated lid. The Zenbook S 13 OLED (2023) is yet another fantastic OLED laptop from Asus. The display is nearly faultless; the 13-inch 2.8K OLED panel was nothing short of stunning, with a max brightness of 355 nits and 100%, 94% and 100% coverage of the sRGB, Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 gamuts, respectively. The display was a joy to look at in almost any scenario, with the 16:10 aspect ratio making it an ideal device for productivity tasks.
