About this deal

The Garrett – Ace 250 is the most reliable metal detector when it comes to locating coins, relics, and gold. Calibration: Often, you will be using your metal detector in soil full of metallic minerals. When this is the case, you are going to want a good calibration feature, also known as a ground-balancing feature, on your metal detector.

The sensitivity of the Ace 400 increased to 10 kHz compared to its “younger brother” Ace 300. Thus the quality of a search has risen a lot. Numerical VDI or Target-ID is displayed on some digital devices. VDI value will more accurately show what kind of metal you have found. At first, you look at the discriminator. Then at the VDI value and after that, you decide whether to dig or to pass it by. Metal detectors can operate in frequencies ranging from 1 kHz up to 100 kHz or more. Typically, a higher frequency is more sensitive to smaller objects and those with a lower conductivity rating. Having the ability to make adjustments on the fly may open up doors to finding a range of different items. 5. Intuitive Control Panels The only downside to this unit is the relatively high price tag. While there are much more expensive models out there, this one does cost the most of the seven we’ve tested. But it can find coins at 10-inches deep, which is the best depth you’ll get with any Bounty Hunter — the Time Ranger gets 9 inches of depth for instance.

There is no universal search coil for a metal detector. Different coils are suitable for each specific place and purpose. For example, large ones that can cover a large area will not bring success in places with lots of metal trash. It’s convenient to work with small “snipers” in such a place. The depth indicator can be handy, especially when you are a new detectorist because you’ll know approximately how many inches you have to dig. This function reduces the number of false positives from the electrically charged soils. Some devices have a factory preset of the ground balance. This setting is very rough. As a result, we have a tool that works steadily on almost any types of ground conditions, but it’s inferior by the depth of signal penetration to detectors without fixed settings.

The New Home Innovations – Starter Kit metal detector was a bit low on the overall score for our tests, but the cheap price tag on this unit somewhat offsets that. If you are looking for a budget metal detector outside of the Bounty Hunter name brand, this one will treat you well. There were no glaring defects on this metal detector; on the other hand, there were no amazing qualities about it either.

Texas First Products sells a wide range of products under several different brand names. In addition to Bounty Hunter, the company is responsible for Teknetics, Night Owl Optics, Nivisys, iGen, and Fisher. With these brands, Texas First Products has grown to become a leading consumer electronics company. The first attempts to create a metal detector began in the 1800s, after electricity was invented. Roughly at the same time, the California Gold Rush began, and people were dreaming of a machine that would help them find more gold faster and easier. Many scientists experimented with the electric fields, but nothing worked.
