About this deal

Most safety razor blades are considered disposable and are designed for a limited number of shaves, typically ranging from three to seven shaves per blade. However, some individuals may extend the life of a blade with proper care and maintenance, such as rinsing and drying the blade after each use. Blade Brands and Varieties Razor blades have been around for years, and are used for a variety of reasons. In terms of shaving they are a very affordable way of getting a really close shave. Most of the leading shaving brands will make some type of blade. We delve into the sharpness of safety razor blades and how it affects your shaving experience. Learn how to choose the ideal blade sharpness for your skin sensitivity. I was very impressed with the first shave using the Derby. It was nothing like what I remembered, it was actually cutting through my 2 days growth no problem. I had an excellent 3 pass shave and no irritation. Derby is very well known for their standard double edge blades that will fit any double edge safety razor. The Derby razor blades are stainless steel and they are coated with a chromium-ceramic, tungsten, and platinum. This will ensure a smooth and safe shave that will make sure your skin remains irritation-free. Derby uses the most advanced equipment to maintain quality as each blade is perforated, hardened, and ground.

Durability when it comes to razor blades can vary big time from person to person based on a lot of factors (hair density, hair coarseness, shave frequency) but I think the general “theme” with Derby Extra’s is that they have to be changed a little more frequently than the average blade. What’s average? Feather: Highly regarded for their sharpness, Feather blades are favored by experienced shavers for achieving a close shave. Two of my full head shaves are about 4 face shaves, and if you shave every second day that’s a week for about 10 cents. I don’t see why you would want to push this blade any further. Coatings: Some razor blades have coatings, such as platinum or ceramic, which can enhance durability by reducing wear and friction during the shaving process. We supply replaceable razor blades for shavettes and safety razors. Our collection of razor blades includes premium brands like Wilkinson, Gillette, Merkur and Feather among our razor blades; you're in good hands. As mentioned above you can simply break a standard razor blade in half as long as you are careful. You can also buy half razor blades, known as single edge blades (SE) such as the Derby Tokai Professional which we have reviewed below.

The company that creates the fine Derby Extra razor blade is located in India. They have been around since the 1950’s but Amusebat (current name) was founded in 1987. There is no doubt that safety razors are the preferred choice over multi-blade disposable razors. Single blades cut cleanly through the hair for a close and comfortable shave. Wondering if these are the same blade with performance perceptions fueled by comparisons to older pre-2016 Extra blades that did not work well for many B&B members. Of course, all of this will vary on your particular factors though. As they say, YMMV. But overall, I would recommend this blade for any man that has a light beard with fine hair. Great ConsistencyThe best razor blades sold in the UK, are the Derby 100 Derby Extra Shaving Blades in terms of quality and value for money. In the Derby English language catalog (link below) the only difference listed is the use of Swedish steel. Otherwise the copy for both is identical with the statement "Special double coating with chromium, ceramic, platinum & tungsten for optimum edge durability & comfort" implying that the manufacturing process may be the same. As we mentioned earlier there are a few common reasons why you might choose a Derby Extra blade for yourself:
