I have been aware of Joe Tracini for some time, as I was a huge fan of Joe Pasquale growing up, and so saw Tracini involved with some of Pasquales entertainment shoes. I specifically remember him singing a rendition of 'Bojangles' in a show. WATCH DAMIAN'S POP UP PANTO ON DEMAND FROM WED 23 DECEMBER". Sheffield Theatres . Retrieved 31 December 2020.

Despite his poor mental health, Tracini has had a stable professional life – he has rarely been without work. He left Hollyoaks in 2014 after a three-year stint, thinking he would go on to something bigger and better. But there was nothing bigger than trying to quell the voices in his head. He briefly returned to Hollyoaks in 2018, after his diagnosis, but acting gigs were increasingly hard to come by. Since 2017, he has presented the children’s TV show The Dengineers (“Basically Grand Designs for kids”) with Meryl Fernandes. In December, it won a Children’s Bafta for best factual entertainment show. My adult career has been trying to undo everything I taught myself about how to be like my dad’ ... Most importantly, it’s funny – I’m not a one for ‘misery memoirs’ – and laughter is the best medicine etc. It’s also superbly enlightening about this complex mental illness. Most people with BPD are undiagnosed as it takes a pretty serious crash to sit up and think: hey, something’s not quite right here. Tracini can’t stand most of what is said in the media about mental health – he says so much of it is po-faced or exploited by celebrities to promote a product. “I used to be watching, thinking: ‘Yeah, great, when’s your album out?’” So many mental health narratives are sugar-coated, he says. “It’s empty and fluffy, like: it will get better. I’m a lot of things, but I’m not fluffy and what goes on up there isn’t fluffy. It’s not a nice little gif with a hug.”Writing this book has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It had to be dragged into the world, with my condition telling me that every single word, sentence and chapter was terrible and would make strangers walk up to me in the street and punch me in the face. In my opinion, this book is a must-read for anyone trying to better understand other people's experiences, and to really appreciate that you can never, ever tell what a person may be going through just by looking at them.

But if there is even the smallest chance that me telling you how I live with me helps you live with you; if it opens up a space for someone, somewhere to be more honest about their mental illness, it will have been worth it. It looks like Joe needs more help than promoting a book. Can’t even imagine the thoughts he goes through on a daily basis, but hearing him repeatedly talking about killing himself this early am is worrying! #Lorraine," said another. Feelings aren’t a choice. We don’t choose how we feel. The only choice we have is weather or not to tell someone about it” Ultimately, this is a story of hope and encouragement, telling us that no matter how hopeless life might seem, if we just wait for maybe as little as a few minutes, things will get better. It is never complacent, though, it doesn't pontificate, and it certainly doesn't make light of any of the major issues and topics it touches.Eu no acho justo dar estrelas pra um relato sincero sobre transtorno de personalidade mas ainda assim vou dar 5. Toda noite ficava animada pra ler mais do livro e descobrir o que mais eu e o Joe tínhamos em comum. Foi ótimo me sentir acolhida e abraçada por alguém que também se sente a pior pessoa do mundo na maior parte do tempo. As soon as he was old enough, he changed his name. He chose Tracini because his grandfather, wrongly, told him it was the original family surname. “My adult career has been trying to undo everything that I taught myself growing up about how to be like my dad.” He still adored his father; he just wanted to be his own person – whoever that was. He tries to explain what your life is like when you essentially have a brain that's trying to kill you every day.' In one video, Tracini sings a song about the erectile dysfunction caused by his BPD; in another, he wears a snorkel and a thong to protect himself from Covid-19; elsewhere, he chats to Miriam Margolyes while she is chomping on a raw onion to ensure he keeps his social distance. Tracini is fascinated with language and wordplay. Why are bees’ knees so special, he asks; he has never even seen a pair. On another occasion, he breaks down the word hopeless – it does not mean he has no hope, just that he has less hope than others. At one point, he says he always feels empty – as hollow as a chocolate Father Christmas. It doesn't just make an argument for honesty, it makes one for kindness and understanding (without ever taking them for granted).

The book also contains his dark sense of humor that fans have come to love. He will struggle with BPD all his life but he is much better than he was when all this started for him. Former Hollyoaks star Joe Tracini joins father Joe Pasquale in Spamalot". Digital Spy. 15 April 2015 . Retrieved 17 April 2015.At the end of the book he says in a typically self-deprecating way: “hopefully this book makes you more able to see what’s happening in someone else’s brain and feel less alone with what’s happening in yours.” Having suffered from my own mental health and PTSD for many years, I always like to hear from others who can share their own personal stories. Cinderella is a record breaker for Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre". Express & Star. 4 December 2014 . Retrieved 8 June 2015.
