About this deal

As more of the type was developed, it surpassed the Halifax and Stirling as the primary heavy bomber employed by the RAF, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and squadrons from other Commonwealth and European countries operating within the RAF.

To sum the model up, it is very well built and not too heavy and has every chance of building into an impressive scale RC airplane Engine nacelles without exhaust covers and the late type rear gun turret equipped the 12.7mm twin guns can be reproduced. A cookie set by YouTube to measure bandwidth that determines whether the user gets the new or old player interface. There is a short history of the aircraft, but again, if one wants basic info only, a historical booklet of such size won’t be enough to cover the basics. Let alone combined with instructions. Let’s not forget, this is was a very important airplane for the Allies during the Second World War. It is strange why HK Models didn’t include such info-book. Especially with that price tag. This video by "Bokus", is one of the first of the ASM Lancaster and shows how well it flies and lands. Prior to this I’d always used a separate receiver battery and had no issues. I decided to dispense with this as I was very confident with 2.4Ghz. On the other hand, the bonus clear parts are really good and really really cool! However, since some of the readers might not get the kit featuring those, I won’t describe anything about them here. The reason for that is that it is not yet clear what exactly the standard kit will feature. And spoiling it and teasing those who won’t get them isn’t gonna do any good to anybody. Overall, everything is very good on the plastic end of things. Maybe the wheels can be substituted, probably some PE elements can be added here and there, but from this point on, it is too late for HK Models. Everything now lies in the hands of aftermarket makers. And judging from the basis that we have on our hands, this will turn into a brilliant scale model plane.

A masking set for the Canopy is available here in case you are already at that stage of your build. Photo-etch: Here’s the start of the wing repair and conversion to Brushless motors. I’ve managed to get a 400 replacement combo deal from BRC hobbies which included a speed controller motor and an 8×4 prop. The motor is a Towerpro 2408-21T rated at 1450Kv and the speed controller is 15Amps. I use 4000mAH 3SLipo. On the 8×4 props, BRC says it will give 145 Watts on 3S Lipo so I should have ample power with 4 of them. On brushed motors, I think it was pulling about 250 Watts for all four which worked out to about 60-70 watts per pound. This metal model kit features amazing detail, with parts cut from one or more 4” square steel sheets. It is designed for moderate difficulty and suitable for ages 14 and up. Assembling the model is easy and fun, with no glue or solder required. Simply snip out the pieces and bend the tabs through corresponding connection points. On the 20th Sept 2009, my Lancaster crashed very heavily. I was gutted it was caused by an overheating speed controller. It first saw service with RAF Bomber Command in 1942, and as the strategic bombing effort over Europe gained traction, it became the primary aircraft for night-time bombing campaigns.

It was originally intended as an upgrade of the Manchester (which had proven difficult in service and was decommissioned in 1942).

Introducing the Avro Lancaster Metal Earth 3D Model Kit, a must-have for history enthusiasts and aviation fans alike. This iconic heavy bomber of the Second World War has been expertly recreated in a miniature version, with intricate details that are sure to impress. The Lancaster will have no problem in problem in rolling on short grass or a hard runway. The big wheels make this an easy task. If all your motors are turning in the same direction, then you may find it a good idea, to have both rudders pointed out slightly, to counteract torque. Here is the build of a Radio Controlled Avro Lancaster Bomber from Priory Models which I’ve rebuilt twice and modified a few times. Whenever I fly her the sight of those 4 engines and twin tails in a banked turn is just majestic.
