About this deal

The only category that stood out from the benchmarks we collected is brightness. In the same 10% window in Filmmaker mode, the Samsung QN95C measured 2321.2 nits, improving on the QN95B’s 1653.6 nits. We’ll note that the QN95B’s best brightness measurement of 1905.8 nits was measured in Standard mode, but we haven’t yet been able to test that on the QN95C. Either way, the numbers we have seen do show an improvement to brightness. The images were also free of any blooming, even when watching difficult scenes in a film such as Gravity. The processing brought out more details than I’d previously noticed in the film, while the contrast was fantastic. Motion handling proved equally adept; even with Picture Clarity turned off the QN95B delivered impressive motion superior to last year’s model. The QN95B sports Samsung’s Infinity One design which was reserved for the 8K model. Whilst the bezels aren’t as razer thin as my QN900A, they’re really damn thin especially when compared to OLEDs. The actual panel itself is also thin just coming in at 15mm. This makes it perfect for wall mounting without the hefty bump that other TVs have. The QN95B supports high dynamic range in the form of HDR10, HLG (hybrid log-gamma) and HDR10+. Sadly, Samsung still refuses to support Dolby Vision, but given the native HDR capabilities of this TV it’s debatable how much benefit the dynamic metadata format would add.

There’s also a rotating mount that you can buy this year (there’s still a slim fit mount included in the box) and this allows The Frame to automatically rotate based on the content being displayed, so if you’re wanting to watch a lot of TikTok content in bed, it’ll flip for you. The OTS system still works well with non-Atmos sources too, with the positioning of specific effects on screen feeling so accurate at times that you start to think there must be a series of speakers somehow built into the panel itself. All of the QN95C’s gaming features, finally, can be accessed via a dedicated Game Bar menu accessed simply by holding down the Smart remote’s Play button. With both QD-OLED and traditional OLED screens all seriously upping their games for 2023, Samsung clearly needed to do something drastic with its mini-LED TVs too. Which they have, in the shape of far more local dimming zones driving their tiny LED lights than we got last year. We’re talking 1344 versus 720 separately controlled areas of lighting – a much bigger increase in a single generation than we’ve seen from Samsung before.Likewise, the Media Hub has pre-installed apps from Samsung's partners and some partners have a row (see the three photos above) in the hub where new content is highlighted, with Samsung's own TV Plus service most prominently featured. In this sense, Samsung's new UI mirrors Google's approach with Android TV and Google TV, just without the recommendations and rich selection of apps. Such pre-installed services, TV Plus, highlighted content, and ads would be easier to accept if the user interface was customizable. Unfortunately, you customization options are extremely limited (to mainly moving app icons in the app row). The Samsung QN95B Neo QLED TV’s upscaling for both HD and SD content is powered by the Neural Quantum Processor 4K. Watching “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the detail and clarity seriously impressed, especially when differentiating all three Spider-Man suits. Even when tested against daylight, I didn’t lose any of the picture to glare. This reminds us that Samsung’s QLED TVs are better equipped to handle places with natural lightning than OLED.

In terms of refresh rate Hertz is the derived SI-unit of frequency with 1Hz=1/s – When talking about TVs this means how many different pictures a TV can display in one second., the Samsung Neo QLED QN95B brings native 144 hertz to the table. However, you can only use the increased frequency Hertz is the derived SI-unit of frequency with 1Hz=1/s – When talking about TVs this means how many different pictures a TV can display in one second. if you have a PC or laptop with a suitable graphics card.In fact, colour tones are reproduced so finely that they prove a perfect pixel by pixel match for the screen’s native resolution, joining the precision of Samsung’s processing in producing pictures that look ultra-sharp even by premium 4K TV standards. that violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising);

The QN95B boasts a new smart system and interface. It’s still based on Samsung’s Tizen engine, but it completely changes the layout from the system we’ve seen only small refinements of for the past couple of years.

As long as you fire the screen up a few minutes before you want to use it, giving its LCD array time to warm up enough to avoid smearing, the QN95B is a brilliant gaming monitor. Its brightness, intense colours, fast response time, and new gaming dashboard make it a constant pleasure to game on.

The other remote is a relatively old-fashioned, button-heavy affair. But it’s still actually easier to find your way round than many such ‘traditional’ remotes are.One last great new picture touch Samsung has included for 2022 is Auto Calibration, which lets you achieve a startlingly effective calibration to industry standards using just your mobile phone and some test signals from the TV. Pro calibrators may argue (as they need to, really…) that they can still get a bit more accuracy with their own more sensitive and sophisticated equipment, but I think the Auto Cal system will be more than good enough for most people. Especially considering it costs you no more than a few minutes of your time. This is made possible by Samsung’s Quantum Matrix technology. Thanks to the Ultra Viewing Angle, the picture hardly loses any quality even when viewed at an angle. The eight mid-range drivers spread across the QN95C’s rear deliver low frequency sounds more cleanly and responsively than last year’s QN95B did. I’d still have liked bass to have more depth and weight, but at least low frequencies don’t cause nearly as much distortion and muddiness as they did before. Build quality is good enough to ensure the screen still feels reasonably robust despite the slenderness of its bodywork, and the centrally mounted stand means you can place the TV on a really quite narrow bit of furniture if you wish.
