About this deal

However for me, I wanted to see how I could use it for the sniper role and what I could get of my H-Harness and into this. The reverse hook and loop panel can also be used to attach a below pouch such as Viper VX Dangler or Scrote. With the rig now crafted I wanted to see how much I could fit into it, here is what I managed to store: Once I have finished with the initial base layer painting and left it to dry, it was time to start the crafting, much the same way as I had the H-Harness and leaf suit.

Magazines and equipment in the photos are for display purposes only and are not included with the product. The rig gets a thumbs up form me and will be certainly something I continue to use and adapt going forward. A plate carrier is a rig that is designed primarily to hold armour plates, be they SAPI type or others. These rigs are much larger and heavier than the average chest rig, even without dummy or real plates inside. For Airsoft purposes these rigs offer theadvantage ofprotection from BBs and additional MOLLEspace, not to mention thatthey look cool as all hell. If you want your Airsoft loadout to give off a special forces or COD vibe, this is the rig you will need. There are dummy plates available that are hollow, meaning your plate carrier doesn't have to be too heavy, and these offer the advantage of protecting you from close range pain whilst still allowing you to hear the BB impact, and as such call your hit. Whilst carriers without a pouch attachment system are available for specific loadouts (under a chest rig), most plate carrierscome covered with MOLLE loops, allowing it to double as protection and load-bearing equipment. Plate carriers tend to cover only the vital organs, meaning you do have a decent level of protection when airsofting but it generally won't cover much of the stomach area. A good plate carrier to start off with is the NUPROL RTG tactical vest. It comes with plenty of pouches included and being equipped with the MOLLE system it is modular enough to adapt to any changes in playstyle you may make in the future.

The Viper Special Ops Chest Rig caught my eye as it was cheap and very small. I decided on getting one in OD which I would then craft. The plan is to get an additional pair of this pads which will br crafted, this way when I run t under something like the Diversant suit or a traditional cloak, I can use the standard shoulder pads, but when I run my crafted leaf suit, I can use the crafted shoulder pads to add the depth and break up my shape. Having this modular ability is quite handy as I could have 3 setups: For a long time now I’ve been using the Viper VX Utility rig as my mine setup, I got this a few years ago when they first came out and I was immediately drawn to it, due to how modular it was. Not available for destinations in the Highlands and Islands, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Guernsey and Jersey, Isle of Scilly and mid Wales. Due to the position of the chest rig and the need to go prone, the craftign was very light, it was mainly there to break up the shape from the solid OD colour.

The main pouch is lined with hook and loop allowing you to insert any mag or utility hook and loop sleeves. For such a small rig it can hold a lot, but due to the design it uses the space well and still keeps a low profile. Considering there’s not a huge increase in sizer between the two rig, the additional space you aging and stuff you can carry is quite a bit more. conclusion

On the front of the rig you will find two zipped, general purpose utility pouches, two elasticated pistol mag / tool pouches and two hook and loop ID panels. This rig will end up being crafted and I’ll likely buy some more inserts for 7,62 and use this setup for when I run the SRS/SSG24 or an assault rifle, with the VX Utility Rig staying as my rig for the VSR/Tac/SSg10 loadouts. With the Operation Oblivion event coming up in France and me running my new Pencott Diversant suit, I wanted something that would compliment the setup and the slightly more mobile gameplay I was after. As you can imagine, my setup is tailored for the marksman/recon role, so I wanted something small and lightweight, but with enough space to carry what I need for a skirmish.

This is the general term for the type of rig worn on the upper chest. These are usually small and lightweight compared to plate carriers and are designed with CQB, recon and other light infantry roles in mind. They are easy to run in and are an excellent magazine carriage solution, especially when operating from the prone position. They can also be worn in conjunction with other rigs, such as webbing/belts and plate carriers, offering an additional rig you can throw on to supplement the equipment on your belt/webbing. A great example of achest rig design is the 8Fields TacticalFully Loaded Recon Lightweight Chest Harness which uses the MOLLE attachment system to mount its pouches and can be configured for recon or direct action with its extended chest panel. Plate Carrier This is maybe my 4/5th rig from Viper now, I’ve had the Utility rig, this rig, the spec ops rig which I reviewed here, plus an old H-Harness setup and one of their first Plate Carriers. Worn across the body and generally providing coverage similar to a waistcoat, the assault vest is the classic rig present in all those top-tier 90s action movies, often worn by US SWAT and FBI HRT at the time. This style of vest is issued by the british army, in the form of a fully MOLLE compatible Assault vest which is capable of being worn over an Osprey body armour. These are great if you want a rig that covers more of your torso to take the sting out of those close-range hits, as plate carriers tend to leave the belly exposed and hits there are not pleasant. A good example of a classic assault vest is the 8Fields Tactical Assault vest with holster. This represents great value for money as it comes equipped with mag pouches and a cross-draw holster, provides good coverage against hits and is also light weight andthin, allowing you to use maximum effort whilst staying cool. Chest Rig In the pic below from Operation Oblivion, I’m on the far left, you can see the rig shown here. Normally I’d run a camo top underneath, but only took and OD one with me. Despite the Viper Special Ops Chest Rig having all the pouches integrated, you have a lot of ways you can store items if you’re smart about how.You can easily tell by the design of the chest rig it was designed with M4 users in mind as it comes with the below pouches intergrated: Select your preferred return option: a FREE Royal Mail return label or a paid via Hermes, Collect+, DPD or UPS Once you have processed your return in the portal, you're ready to post it off. Make sure you keep proof of postage.

Why do I use their rigs? They are simply cheap, they work and the quality/price balance is great. current vx utility rigWhatever equipment you decide to use in the field this rig can be easily customised using any sleeves compatible with Viper VX system. I used this setup in the recent Operation Oblivion 3 event in France with the Diversant suit, I have to say I was extremely happy with the setup. The rig was secure, allowed me to move around freely without the weight shifting or items moving, which was one of the main issues with my H-Harness setup. You hardly feel the weight on your shoulders, especially when using the additional shoulder pads.
