Unleash Hell'...guys this is more like HEAVEN! The awesome Warrior Protein Bar protein bar in Salted Caramel Flavour!! With 20g protein per bar, this multi-layered sensation is a crunchy, chunky, candy bar lovers DREAM!! A bar with a nougat core, coated in whey crispies, with a salted caramel layer combining the two together, then DIPPED in delicious milk chocolate!!

Salted Caramel, White Chocolate, Milk Choc Coconut, Dark Choc Peanut Butter, Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake, Banoffee Pie, Key Lime Pie, Choc Chip Cookie Dough, Raspberry Dark Chocolate, White Choc Mocha It’s really different and creative and you wouldn’t be disappointed if you got this in a cake shop (is a cake shop even a thing?!). The thing is, the calories are higher than Protein Pantry by quite a bit, although it does have a decent 20g of protein. Having a protein shake on the go still requires crying around a big bulky shaker, finding a water supply (ideally not the sinks in a public toilet) and then mixing the shake up (which can often result in brown liquid being sprayed everywhere if the lid isn’t on tight enough). Malitol Milk Chocolate Coating (31%) (Sweetener Malitol, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Emulsifier Soya Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Flavour), Sweetener Malitol, Milk Protein, Collagen Hydrolysate, Soya Crispies (Soya Protein Isolate, Rice Flour, Malted Barley Extract (Gluten), Salt), Humectants (Glycerol, Sorbitol), Soya Protein Isolate, Water, Palm Fat, Condensed Milk, Flavouring, Emulsifier Mono and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Bulking Agent Microcrystalline Cellulose, Salt, Colouring Agents (Caramel, Beta-carotene).

Warrior Crunch Protein Bar

Grenade has always tried to level up their flavours and go for a ‘dessert’ style of bar, again a good range of flavours, I do have to say, they look rich! Around 23g of protein and averages at about 220 calories per bar, the macros are slightly better! USN – Trust range Lidl is known as one of the cheapest supermarkets in the UK (along with Aldi), and you love protein bars, AND you’re a bargain hunter, that’s great news. Why? These bars are one of the very cheapest available in the UK. You’d think that for that price, they’d be sub-par quality, but their imaginatively-named ‘Protein Bar’ is both high in protein AND low in calories. Now I’ll be honest with you, the taste and texture aren’t amazing, this reminds of the old skool protein bars of the mid-2000s that were so chewy you had to book an hour out in your calendar just to eat one.

N.B. When reviewing these bars I am NOT going to mention sugar content. despite all of the bad press, unless you’re consuming vast quantities of sugar, there is nothing inherently bad or ‘evil’ about sugar. Note: as with any supplement that you're using to help achieve your fitness goals – protein bars, powders etc. – remember they are just that, supplements, and you will always get more nutritional value from real foods. Men's Health Lab Approved Technically, when it comes to muscle gain, more protein is better, so you’ll want to be buying bars with higher protein contents more often than not. The general consensus in the scientific community is that you be getting a minimum of 1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight to gain muscle, that means, if you weigh 80kg you should be looking to get 120g of protein per day, spread evenly across 3-5 meals. That means you need to be aiming for between 24-40g of protein per meal. WARRIOR CRUNCH PROTEIN BARS X 12 - ALL FLAVOURS High Protein, Low Carb Bars Warrior CRUNCH bars are possibly the tastiest low carb, high protein bar ever to hit the market! A richly delicious, multi-layered, crunchy low-carb, high protein bar that is perfect any time of day. The simple fact is that if you’re trying to lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit, which means eating fewer calories than you use every day. The easiest way to do this is to not drastically change your diet – if you do you won’t be able to adhere and you’ll just end up quitting. Instead, you need to find low-calorie swaps for your favourite foods – including protein bars! The lowest calorie protein bar out there is the Maximuscle high protein bar. This contains 174 calories and 15g of protein. This isn’t much lower than the typical average of 200 calories but is a LOT lower than some of the bars out there which can contain over 250 calories.Protein bars stamped with the esteemed the Men’s Health Lab Approved logo are our winners. The remaining protein bars on our list have been selected by Hope and Hobson, who know exactly what to look for and what to avoid with a pre- or post-workout protein treat. Peanut Butter and Jelly?! Yes absolutely, I’m here for it…plant-based too which is good to see! PHD is obviously an OG in the sports nutrition game and so you know you’ll be getting a quality product. Around 21g of protein and 240 calories so not drastically different to a lot of the other ranges here. Optimum Nutrition But, be aware that not all protein bars are made equal. Some contain high levels of sugar and 'empty calories', meaning your healthy treat could be anything but. To cut costs, some brands sweeten them with crystaline fructose, which delivers intense sweetness in small quantities. Consume too much of this ingredient and it can put you at risk of liver damage.

The Warrior Crunch isn’t exactly what the name suggests. There isn’t much ‘snap’ to it; the bars even describe themselves as having a triple layer of ‘gooey’ goodness. Crunch? Gooey? Which is it? The raspberry filling is definitely soft but decadently so; in much the same way as a luxury chocolate bar. I missed any crunch. But the opulence that this bar seems to unusually offer, means I found myself thinking that a box of these would make for a great present for an exercise fiend, amateur athlete or gym bunny; a birthday, Christmas, Mother’s or Father’s Day gift. On the flipside, some protein bars are marketed as “meal replacement bars”, which can be eaten in place of a full meal, helping you eat fewer calories. It is, of course, down to preference. “While protein can aid satiety and leave you feeling fuller for longer, weight loss comes down to overall diet,” says Hope. When Should I Eat a Protein Bar? Wholegrain oat-blend protein bars are some of the most popular options, as they can provide up to 30 per cent of your RDA for fibre. Most protein bars are also bolstered with between 15 and 20 vitamins and minerals, with a focus on antioxidants and vitamins C and E, which will help lessen DOMS. You’re looking at around 21g of protein per bar and on average, 250 calories. This is decent for macros and a nice hit of protein whilst on the go. Warrior Raw products get a good review and don’t have a bad variety of flavours as you can see! The white chocolate cranberry is a nice little addition as opposed to your normal chocolate and caramel malarkey. Grenade – Carb Killa range The only downside to protein bars is that they’re much more costly than shakes (gram for gram of protein) AND they contain more calories; a typical scoop of protein powder comes in at around 100 calories for 20g of protein, while most bars exceed the 200 calorie mark for the same amount of protein.I’m somewhat of a chocoholic and whilst on a healthy eating plan, the Cadburys and Mars of the world are off limits, I do need to work in a treat or two, preferably of the cacao seed nature. I’ve tried similar products with healthy, nutritional profiles that still offer the chocolate bar experience, but never have I been so convinced and satisfied, as by the Warrior. To help you decipher what’s really inside your protein bar, take a look at the ingredients on the reverse of the wrapper. In an ideal world, the majority of ingredients will be natural and you’ll be able to recognise them. Think whey protein, nuts, seeds, milk, pea protein (v), soy (v) and egg, for starters. A lot of protein bars, especially vegan ones, contain high amounts of fibre, helping to support a healthy gut.
