If you have limited space in your workout area, dumbbells are an efficient way to achieve the maximum outcomes from your home workout. The answer to this question depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you're serious about weightlifting, a 7ft, 20kg Olympic barbell is the way to go. It can hold more weight and is the standard size for competitive lifting. However, if you're just starting out or have limited space, a 6ft barbell is a great option. It's more affordable and easier to manoeuvre, making it ideal for home gyms. A barbell is a long metal bar that is used in weight training exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and bench presses. It typically has sleeves on each end that can hold weight plates. What is a 7ft Barbell?

Olympic Bars are longer and stronger than Standard Bars and are able to withstand a maximum weight load of up to 750kg. Olympic Weight Plates therefore come in heavier sizes with a 2” diameter hole in the centre of the plate. They are available from 1.25kg up to 50kg. Olympic Weights are better suited for intermediate/advanced strength trainer who are lifting heavier than the novice/beginner lifter. Knurling: The knurling is the engraved part of the shaft that provides a rough surface to enhance grip. The pattern and dimensions of the knurling will vary across barbells (i.e. some will have knurling at the center of the handle, some will not).
