To turn on notifications, open the Alexa app and select to Settings, then Notifications, then Shopping Notifications and toggle it on. Your Echo speakers will light up yellow when you have new notifications.

Then, try some of these commands: Play music on other (or multiple) Alexa devices: "Alexa, play [artist/album/song/genre] in the living room" or, "Alexa, play [music] everywhere." If you're into shopping, you can say something like "Alexa, show me the green pleated skirt" to find specific clothing items using the Shop the Look feature, which you can also use for home and beauty products.

Drop In on another user (requires the other user to allow you to Drop In anytime): "Alexa, drop in on [name]."

My Experience

The Echo Show devices and Echo Spot are the only Echo speakers with touchscreen displays. This means you can tell them to show you things. On standard Echo units, call out your wake word (usually "Alexa", as long as you've not changed it to one of the other options) and the brightest part of the blue ring will point toward the direction in which Alexa heard its name called. If it's not pointing to you, that's a hint that something's still not right. Grab some compressed air and gently clear the microphone ports on top; don't start poking pins in there, because you are not a savage. Step 4: In the search bar, search for your cable provider (e.g., DirecTV, Fios, Frontier, Dish Network).

If you have traditional TV service from Comcast, AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV, Dish, Spectrum, Cox, Verizon Fios, Centurylink Prism, Frontier Fios, or Mediacom, the Fire TV Cube can tune into live channels as well. You can just cut the power of any compatible device and replug it to let Alexa restart. There's very little risk to doing so. This means one of two things. Play an audiobook: "Alexa, play [title] on Audible," "Alexa, read [title]" or, "Alexa, play the book, [title]."Probably the biggest annoyance of multi room audio through Echo devices is that they get so comfortable playing multi room audio that it's very difficult to convince them otherwise. Stop the tunes, ask them to play again, and they'll restart on all the speakers they were playing on before even if you don't specify a group. Ask about Santa: "Alexa, how old is Santa Claus?" "Alexa, is Santa Claus real?" or, "Alexa, where does Santa Claus live?" For now, the Cortana skill is limited because it's a public preview of what the full integration will be in the future. Search using Alexa commands To connect your TV box, open the Alexa app, hit the menu button in the top-left corner, select Music, Video, & Books, and then choose your provider from the list. Select “Enable skill,” and follow the on-screen instructions.
