About this deal

Remember what we said about the Blood Rites table being modifiable? This is the easiest way to do it. Just like before, if you play this Temple then you add 1 to the current Battle round for the effect you get. That means you get +1 to run and charge from the first battle round and +1 to hit and wound from only the third battle round, making your units hit combat sooner and hit harder when they do. Also gives your army 5+ ward from turn 4 which actually makes it useful!

At the heart of every Asuryani craftworld sits the Avatar of Khaine, its own incarnation of the Bloody-Handed God of the Aeldari, Kaela Mensha Khaine. Aroused from his throne of smouldering iron, the Avatar of the god of war and murder leads the warriors of his craftworld to battle. Huge and all-powerful, the Avatar is a god incarnate, the embodiment of the Aeldari racial soul, and a deadly opponent even for the most mighty powers of Chaos. Despite his many incarnations over the years, the Avatar has always cleaved close to the original sketches by Jes Goodwin, an utterly singular design that has stood the test of time as the figurehead of the Aeldari at war. Asuryan • Cegorach • Gea • Hoec • Isha • Kaela Mensha Khaine • Kurnous • Lileath • Morai-Heg • Vaul • Ynnead However, the falcon, Faolchú, consort of the Great Hawk, who had fought for Vaul, took the sword Anaris and delivered it to Eldanesh, the greatest warrior and leader of the mortal Aeldari. With Anaris in hand, Eldanesh of the Red Moon took up the fight and faced Khaine in single combat. Eldanesh fought well, but in the end he too was defeated by Khaine, his body crushed by the God of War.During the struggle between the Chaos Gods, Khaine was driven into the material world, where his psychic core shattered into a thousand pieces. Each piece came to rest at the heart of an Aeldari Craftworld, where it hibernated within the Craftworld's Infinity Circuit, but could be animated again to possess a metallic construct body and go to war when needed by the Craftworld. Within the Warhammer Fantasy universe Khaine is worshipped primarily by the Dark Elves and the High Elves. However, in this instance his full title is Khaela Mensha Khaine, with an "h" that is not present in the Aeldari rendering of his name; the meaning of "Khaela Mensha" remains the same. It’s no surprise that the embodiment of death would be hard to kill – the Yncarne’s Deathly Form ability offers a 4+ invulnerable save and halves all incoming damage. This provides plenty of time for it to close in on the enemy and start lopping heads from shoulders with its legendary Sword of Souls, Vilith-zhar.

Much like with the other minis updated from his art, they keep true to the old model, but just make them way cooler. New Eldar Avatar Model Teasers For movement shenanigans, Steed of Shadows remains as it did, increasing movement to 16” and granting Fly to the caster. Excellent for repositioning Morathi, as you’re going to need to control her auras a lot tighter than before. Mirror Dance lets you swap two heroes within 18 of each other, which can help reposition when things go wrong.Do you think the height of the Eldar Avatar will be size-wise- and what about the scale to other models? The new Avatar of Khaine comes on an 80 mm base, in contrast to the 60mm of the Forge World Avatar and the 40mm of the classic Avatar. I wasn’t able to assemble the model yet, but I’ve taken this picture of my Forge World Avatar, the new Guardians and a Wraithlord, so you should get a good impression of his size. The new Avatar isn’t that huge, definitely a bit smaller than most Greater Daemons, but taller than a Wraithlord still. If the Chalice of Criel is used in the ritual, it will be presented to the Young King who will take a sip of his own blood before accepting the cup. Once the preparations are completed, the doors to the inner sanctum of the shrine will be opened, and the Young King will step forth carrying the Avatar's weapon. The doors will close behind him and the Exarchs will offer a hymn of praise to Khaine and thanks to the Young King for his or her sacrifice. Then the chamber’s door opens and the Young King enters. The Exarchs continue the ritual at the entrance. It may take hours or days, but finally a terrible scream echoes from the chamber and the Avatar rises. There is no sign of the Young King – it is unknown whether the Young King is united with Khaine or is destroyed. According to older canon, Khaine was the only Elven god worshipped by the Dark Elves. However, more recent canon in the 7th and 8th Editions of Warhammer Fantasy Battle indicates that the Dark Elves also worship some of the other gods of the Elven Pantheon, primarily the Cytharai.

Khaine is the god of the Aeldari associated with battle, war and conflict. Many Imperial scholars believe him to be a manifestation of the Aeldari's racial passion as manifested in battle and warfare. "Kaela Mensha" is not technically part of Khaine's name, but is actually a title he bears. It roughly translates from the Aeldari Lexicon as "Bloody-Handed," a reference to the blood which eternally drips from his hands as a reminder of his murder of the ancient Aeldari hero Eldanesh. to run rolls – Present from the very beginning and your units are already pretty fast so this will help them zip onto objectives early. Khaine has multiple aspects that are revered, collectively called the "thousand faces of Khaine". [6a] The Executioners of Har Ganeth revere him as the Executioner, while other aspects include the Manticore, [6b] the Scorpion, [7a] the Hawk, [7a] the Bull, [7a] the Wounded Warrior, [7a] the Iron Panther, [6c] the Deathbringer [6c] and the Serpent Lord. [6e] Therefore he tries to steal as many souls as possible to fill out his own underworld. It is from this realm of death that some human necromancers call forth the souls that they enslave. Khaine can only steal souls that that have been directly sacrificed to him or have not received proper burial rites and are thus unprotected by Morr. Not only does the new kit come with three head options, it also has three weapons; in addition, the new Avatar is adorned with the runes from a number of different Craftworld Aspects, creating a truly customizable monster to add to your Craftworlds armyThe Avatar of Khaine may have returned in a new and terrifyingly powerful form, but it’s not the only manifestation of divine wrath appearing in the upcoming Codex: Aeldari. The Ynnari are returning alongside their craftworld, Corsair, and Harlequin cousins, bringing with them their very own avatar – the Yncarne. Like every third edition battletome to date, you get 4 new Grand Strategies and 6 new Battle tactics. Whirlwind of Blades (Grand Strategies) Khaela Mensha Khaine, for hate's sake, hear our petition -- as blood answers the throat slit. Keep the hearts of the Druchii cold and bitter, wherein the murderous will of our survivor-civilization be preserved for all eternity. Bring death, just and swift, to the weak. Daub the revenger's blade with the blood of enemies old. Watch over the inconstant north. Grant the wild men and their wilderness your darkness. Let blade and bolt bring sacrifice to your altar. Bless the druchii, ever your acolytes and assassins, with murder in your name and victories as certain as spite." Next up is the gorgeous new Rangers kit, giving your army some great options for stealth and sniping. Their cloaks lower the effectiveness of return fire when the Rangers are in cover, which makes them great for covert missions and assassinations. Unfortunately, they leave out the base sizes, which for the most part are 40mm except the 1991 and 1995 Avatar models which are on 25mm.

The mythical Croneswords* are some of the most powerful weapons in the galaxy, and the new profile gives it enough power to match its own legend. Against single targets, it hits at nearly twice the Strength as it used to, passing through both armour and invulnerable saves with ease to deliver a minimum of 4 damage on every swing. Some Humans also worship Khaine. Imperials associate Khaine with Morr, citing myths that link the two as brothers, each battling for control over the province of death. The Lord of Murder is upheld by killers, thieves, and even some soldiers. [1a]
