Our best selling antenna that is commonly used with the Huawei B535 router is the Fullband MIMORAD and if you need a slightly higher gain antenna then the Fullband FBXPMIMO antenna has cross-polarized antennas inside the housing which will provide an optimised signal reception. The design of the Huawei B535 WebBoxis nothing to get excited about, but that’s ok. Its plain white build will disappear neatly into almost any home. Most people don’t want their routers to stand out, and this one certainly doesn’t, even compared to the newer Three 5G Hub. There’s also the option to connect an external antenna as it has support for two SMA antennas, to potentially improve the range and performance of the device. This again is a match for most rival devices. With slight caveats (see below), an iPad connected directly to the B535's wifi (not via the USG) does have internet connectivity. Unfortunately, this is of little practical value here, because (a) the 4G aerial and B535 are in a different building; and (b) the load balancing can only be done via the USG. And the ADSL service is not great .... There is indeed the ability to load balance across ADSL (Plusnet) and 4G (via Huawei), using the USG's two WAN ports. Hence the need to connect the USG to the B535 -- which is what refuses to work ....As such, you might want to consider the new Three 4G Hub or another network option instead, as it might not cost more overall, and in the case of the Three 4G Hub you’ll get higher speeds. However, I am also now very much of the view that the B535 is pretty poor, to say the least. (It is clearly possible that it is at least part of the problem.) Although the older B315 that I was using did what I needed to, it was clearly a mistake to blithely assume that the B535 would be ok and an improvement. So, in parallel with trying to make progress with the IPv4 problem, I’m also going to more seriously look at one or two other options, including the Mikrotik Chateau LTE12 and perhaps also their new ATL LTE18 external antenna with inbuilt router. I’ll probably start a separate thread with question on this shortly ….
So read on to see whether the Huawei B535 is worth hanging on to (or buying in the first place) or whether you’re better off with something different. Design As for software, this isn’t something you’ll likely be interacting with much, but the Huawei B535 WebBox does have a simple web interface, allowing you to configure settings and read messages – as there’s no display, you have to access this from an external device.

One of the joys of 4G routers is that they’re usually incredibly easy to set up, as is the case with the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus. GSM network is not supported. In view of the now very good LTE network expansion, this is surely not be a good problem for most users.
The 4GEE Home Router 2 meanwhile matches the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus for speed, and can connect up to 64 devices at once, but it has two (rather than four) ethernet ports. So again, it’s not quite as good as the B535.
Should I consider a 5G Router?
We’ve mentioned three of the main alternatives elsewhere in this review – the Three 5G Hub, the Three 4G Hub, and the 4GEE Home Router 2. The first of those is only worth considering if you can get a 5G signal, while the other two tie you to Three and EE respectively. That said, this is only an issue for people who plan to make use of more than two ethernet ports – and EE’s network is often faster than Three’s, so it’s a strong alternative for some buyers.
