About this deal

Washing eyes with baby shampoo is the traditional way to clean the eyelids. Add a few drops of baby shampoo to a small cup of warm water so that the ratio of water to shampoo is 10:1. Use a cotton wool bud dipped in the shampoo and water solution, ensuring that you squeeze out the excess liquid from the cotton bud to stop it dripping into your eyes, which can cause irritations. Try to clean any crust at the base of the eyelids. Once your eyelids are clean, wash off the shampoo using a flannel or wash cloth. Conjunctival phlyctenules. These are small (1-3 mm), hard, triangular, yellowish-white lumps surrounded by prominent but tiny blood vessels. If these lumps develop they normally occur on the lower part of the eye just below the cornea. They are made up of white blood cells that accumulate in response to bacterial infection.

Tiny flakes or scales may appear on the eyelids which look like flakes of dandruff. Crusts may develop at the base of eyelashes. Another method is to use sodium bicarbonate. Add a teaspoonful to a cup of cooled water that has recently been boiled (to partially sterilise the water). This is applied using a clean cloth or cotton wool bud in the same manner. Blephaclean wipes can be used forthe daily hygiene of eyelids and sensitive skins (especially in cases of blepharitis). Seborrhoeic blepharitis is closely linked with a skin condition called seborrhoeic dermatitis. In seborrhoeic dermatitis, the affected skin becomes oilier than normal and can become scaly. Seborrhoeic dermatitis typically causes bad dandruff and sometimes a rash on the face or upper body. The underlying cause of seborrhoeic dermatitis is not clear, but a type of yeast calledMalassezia furfur is involved. However, it is not just a simple skin infection and it is not contagious. The yeast lives in the oil of human skin in most adults and is normally harmless. However, in some people the it seems to trigger an inflammatory reaction, causing the blepharitis. Frequently Asked Questions

Simply take a wipe and run it along your eyelid, paying attention to the lower eyelash area. Use a fresh wipe for the other eye, to gently clean and soothe. There is no need to rinse your eyes once done either and you'll receive the best results when you use the wipes twice daily, in the morning and at night. These sterile wipes are also ideal for removing your eye makeup and the box is handily portable, allowing for easy on the-go-use. Additional information Blephaclean formula is comprised of 3 natural ingredients, Hyaluronic acid, Centella Asiatic and Isis Florentina. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally hydrating component that helps repair. Centella Asiatic stimulates the production of collagen and cornea connective tissues. Isis Florentina naturally eases inflammation. All ingredients combined, help smooth, hydrated and replenish the skin. Corneal inflammation (keratitis), ulceration, and scarring. Though rare, this serious complication can affect sight. See a doctor urgently if you develop eye pain beyond the regular irritation or grittiness, or any loss of vision from the affected eye.

Iris Florentina and Centella Asiatica content, which helps to stimulate synthesis of collagen and has an anti-inflammatory action. If you are not registered with a GP, we have an in-house private GP practice you can use. Alternatively, we can suggest the most appropriate course of action for you to take, given your location and individual circumstances. Blephaclean wipes are clinically proven to reduce symptoms of blepharitis; 2 after 21 days of twice-daily use, patient OSDI scores were reduced to ‘asymptomatic’ in 55% of patients, with significant overall improvements in ocular comfort (p<0.001). 2 In most cases, blepharitis is uncomfortable but not serious or sight-threatening. Complications are uncommon, but can include:Blephaclean keeps the eyelids clean whilst respecting the skin around the eyes and its natural bacteria Changes to the eyelashes (which mainly occur in severe and lchronic cases) include; loss of eyelashes (madarosis), misdirection of eyelashes towards the eye (trichiasis) and a discoloration of the eyelashes (poliosis).

Eyelid ulceration and scarring. Though uncommon, this can cause the eyelid to turn inwards against the eyeball (entropion) or outwards (ectropion). If you are self-paying you don’t need a referral from your GP for a consultation. You can simply refer yourself* and book an appointment. The most common method is to press on the eyelids gently with a wash cloth soaked in very warm water for 5-10 minutes. To keep the cloth warm, keep running it under warm water. The purpose of warmth is to soften the skin and help dissolve any crusts around the eyelids. It also allows the oily secretions to flow easier. Warmth applied to the eyelids for about five minutes is sufficient to achieve this. Yes of course, I put a few drops onto a cotton bud and then closed the eye I was applying it to then just wipe it across the top of the lash line so it soaked into the hair folicle and around the area. You do have to be careful and try not to let it get in your eyes (I have done that a few times) also I wiped it under my lower lashes. What I also found were Tea Tree Facial Wipes which I use everyday around my eyes and they have helped. Blephaclean is a daily eyelid wipe containing a gentle, micellar solution, free from preservatives, parabens, soap and perfumes
