About this deal

Out-of-Character Moment: Kaya gets one of these when Kyouhei proposes to her and then treats marriage as something of convenience. She gets angry and calls him out on it. Both note that it's not very like her. Art: It's curious, I know the manga is from the 2000s, but his art looks older, I'm not very used to that style, but it's not bad art, just different. Weakened by the Light: Vampires are severely weakened when exposed to direct sunlight, but it does not directly kill them. What If the Baby Is Like Me: Reason why Kyouhei doesn't want to have kids, and is meticulous about condom usage. He has to get over it in the final volume, when Kaya becomes pregnant, and the baby is clearly a powerful vampire. This is part two of a three part novella series & begin's right where part one left off. I am absolutely in love with this series. This story is highly intriguing & you will not be able to put it down. The characters are compelling & the plot is captivating. A must read paranormal romance.

I like that the Director does trust her a lot and that becomes very evident. She just knows and there is definitely, in my opinion, more stuff stirring underneath what is in the surface and I like that. Fetishized Abuser: Kyouhei has outright hidden information from Kaya, just so she'll worry and squirm more because it's more amusing to him than to tell her. He's not particularly violent but does know how to take no for an answer. His relationship with Kaya is half mind game and half love affair. Even if he later changes, the narrative has always treated him as sexually attractive. The vamprie male protagonist is characterised from the first as gifted, even though he's a womanizer (and his womanizing is explained soon enough) and fiercely loyal to his family, even though he feels as if he doesn't belong, being the only vampire. For Kyouhei Touma, she was careful to note various details of his appearance depending on the setting of the scene. In particular, his hair was the most difficult to draw. [7] Manga [ edit ] a b Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 6". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.2. Shogakukan. p.42. ISBN 978-4-09-131206-8. The series is about this girl who becomes the new secretary of this hot CEO guy. Now this guy is special because he is a bloody manchild. Acting like a kid on many occasions. But its ok cuz he's hot, a vampire, and rich. Also yeah he's a vampire in this story. Because the author was too busy to think up of actual ideas she just took one from the free idea book. Late in the series, Kaya is diagnosed as anemic, and has to start taking iron tablets and adjust her diet to compensate. As might be expected for someone regularly feeding a vampire.

Their relationship grows, but they have some inner problems. Kaya isn't sure whether she is just a "meal" for him, just his secretary, or something more. Kyouhei believes that Kaya is only doing her secretarial duty by keeping her boss in good health, which is what she says, but he wants her to let her guard down. Kyouhei is also a very prideful vampire and it's looked down upon to fall in love with a human. If I drool a little is that totally unethical? Lol. I don't know why my heart has such a soft spot for japanese animation culture. Seriously. Every drawing in this tells a story for me and I love it! <3 Smut smut smut all around. Vampires Are Rich: As it turns out, vampires in this series own much of the worlds large corporations. Due to a combination of business talent, experience, and marrying well.

Kiss of the Vampire: Kyouhei finds that women's blood tastes best at the point of the woman's orgasm, and the bite itself is intensely pleasurable. This is the chaos of Abigail’s life. Her mother is dying. She is filled with dark magic she can’t control, and she is fighting the crazy connection between she and Sebastian. She’s a witch, he’s a vampire. It would never work, would it? It's one of those books where I looked at the premise and thought it was interesting, but didn't expect the writing to be my type of thing. For the most part, that was about right for me since I ended up laughing most of the time.

Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 1". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.1. Shogakukan. p.6. ISBN 978-4-09-130857-3. But the heroine is amazing. A constant annoyance in manga is a weak character. Yes, women are sensitive, yes, we tend to cry about stupid things, but crying all the freaking time is unacceptable. I think Kaya was beautiful, strong-willed, professional, but still just a soft-hearted woman. Yes, she had her moments, but it's okay every once in a while. That's normal. Sometimes, feelings get you so confused that you don't know what to do. That's what happens to Kaya in this volume. She's a smart young woman, who makes a wonderful secretary for Director Kyohei. But, it's obvious that she has fallen head-over-heels for him. She's tired of seeing women streaming in-and-out of his office, with none of them--even her--being anything more to Kyohei than just a constant and consistent food source.

Reviews

Great characters, great development. They pass trough all stages of love like denial, fury, acceptance and mutual affection. In work they know what they are there for and at night they know it too. Humans have human troubles, but the vampires doesn't share them. They have other affairs, usually even more serious. And their behavior is pretty realistic. I'm sure if I try to read this manga again in about 3 years I'll go crazy, however, actually this manga was very addictive to read, I felt like I was 13 again, at least until part of it.
