About this deal

Ableton Live Suite includes many more Audio and MIDI effects compared to Standard, so if you want to ensure you have everything, we recommend going with Ableton Live Suite. How to connect the Quattro to ableton The more advanced counterpart to the Duo, Mixars's Quattro is a four-channel Serato mixer with extensive dedicated controls, including RGB performance pads and Sampler functions.

Use the REC or BSCAST buttons from the MASTER center panel of the VirtualDJ GUI to Record or Broadcast your mix. The effects sections of the Mixars Quattro is a mixed bag. The Quattro has a good selection of effects which includes four channel effects and 14 BPM-synced beat effects which are all post-fader, but overall they don’t sound as good as effects you’d find on Pioneer DJ mixers. The Microphone inputs are not part of the USB Audio interface, so these cannot be added in VirtualDJ Audio setup and will not control the software Microphone section in the MASTER panel of VirtualDJ GUI and vice versa. While VirtualDJ can bypass it's timecode engine and use the source of timecode signal as line input, it is also possible to have mixed audio configurations with both Timecode (DVS) and Line-Inputs if special use cases require it.Mixars's Quattro is a fantastically adaptable midi DJ controller that is extremely useful when coupled with Ableton Live. This device has a great range of features, making it ideal as an Ableton Live controller.

Conclusion The Mixars Quattro is a solid four-channel mixer for those who want pro DJ features and functions in a recognisable club layout (ie Pioneer DJM mixers) without spending an arm and a leg.

The Mixars Quattro includes a range of features for spicing up your mixes. It allows you to add in your own hot cue points, samples, and play them whilst mixing to create a unique performance. It is also MIDI mappable, allowing you to use Serato DJ to map MIDI events to the available buttons on the mixer. The dual USB ports make DJ switch-overs a breeze, allowing you to keep both USBs plugged in at all times. There are 2 microphone inputs, allowing you to make announcements. The loop rotary control knob controls the loop and loop roll function in Serato DJ. By pressing it down you can activate a loop. By rotating it, you can change the size of the loop. The mixer also features line/phone outs for connecting up both cd/media players, as well as Serato timecode vinyls/turntables. The mixer also features a 5th fader for controlling the volume level of samples. Connect External Equipment Mixars probably went with a lower quality crossfader to cut down on cost and because many DJs looking to buy a four-channel mixer aren’t too concerned with scratching. However, Mixars does offer a higher quality crossfader called the Galileo Essential Crossfader Upgrade. This fader is the same as you would find in Mixars’ two-channel battle mixer which is built with scratch DJs in mind. Once installed, the Quattro performed as good as any scratch mixer. Software controls All forms of Ableton Live, Intro, Lite, Standard and Suite, can work with practically any instrument that sends out MIDI data, and it will be compatible with all versions of Live such as 9, 10 and 11. Due to this, the Quattro will be usable with Ableton Live. Pioneer DJ have improved the already club standard features of the previous DJM900. The DJM-900NXS2 has 4 phono stages, 24 bit 96khz sound card and 2 USB ports for dual laptop use. It’s also got adjustable fader curves and an FX section evolved brilliantly from its predecessor. There is a further USB send/return to connect an iPad so you can can patch effect apps (such as RMX1000 for iOS) for full emulation of that unit. The DJM-900NXS2 works harmoniously with the CDJ2000NSX2 to make it the ultimate setup for those using Rekordbox. You can also use it in conjunction with Serato DJ Pro, Traktor, and ShowKontrol.Make sure that the Quattro is selected as your audio input and output device in your audio settings. The Mixars Quattro is a professional standard club mixer. It is ideal for your home setup as well. The Quattro mixer provides everything a professional DJ needs for a club mixer. It features the usual 3-band EQ, plus 4 high quality built-in effects including crush, noise, filter, and gate for adding excitement into your build-ups. The thing that makes this mixer stand out is the 8 RGB pads on each side. These are positioned on the left and right side of the mixer, allowing you to easily access them, and always have your hands near the other controls when needing to mix. You can use the pads to add in hot cue points, samples, or other user defined functions in Serato DJ, allowing you to create mashups on-the-fly to create unique mixes. By having the pads on the mixer close to the other controls, you can use one hand to control the samples, and the other to control the effects on the channel as well. High Quality Effects

The QUATTRO achieves the best layout, control, and reliability thanks to its 16 RGB pads, four effects (Filter, Noise, Gate, Crush) for each channel, FX section with 14 additional effects, send / return, and dedicated sampler volume. The dual USB ports lets hook up two laptops for easy changeover. Mixars Quattro offers a variety of different Audio Setups and Operation modes. The possible configurations are described here. Connecting and setting up the Mixars Quattro with Ableton Live is a simple task, after they're connected you'll be able to adjust the software's parameters from your midi DJ controller. The mixer has all the inputs and outputs you’d expect on a four-channel club-style mixer. Each channel has two RCA inputs, one of which is phono/line selectable, all of which can be used with DVS in Serato DJ Pro. The Quattro has four different outputs which includes XLR, 1/4 TRS, and two RCA outputs. All in all I like it, and I have used the Pioneers and the Behringer DDM4000 ( I only use mixers for radio). I now do not need a sperate controller for jingles nor for the effects. Use the Serato DJ Pro effects (choose A or B in your effects channels). Takes a little bit of getting used to if you have come off the Pioneer SP1 but you will get the hang of it. One difference from the Pioneer DJ four-channel layout is that volume controls for the master and booth outputs are located in the middle, much like you would find on many DJ controllers, instead of the top right.
