The narwhal, also known as a narwhale ( Monodon monoceros), is a medium-sized toothed whale that lives year-round in Arctic waters around Greenland, Canada and Russia. The narwhal can reach up to 30 feet long, a full third of which consists of just the tusk. It can also weigh around 1.5 tons.
