About this deal

Martha Monkey (voiced by Joanna Ruiz in the UK and Kathleen Barr in the US) is a stuffed monkey with an energetic but bossy tomboy personality. Sly and Gobbo change themselves into Noddy and Tessie Bear after seeing how nice others are to them. Sly and Gobbo give Noddy magic sound cups so he'll sing like a bird. Bumpy Dog takes them, causing trouble in Toytown. Aunt Agatha's remote-operated vacuum cleaner goes berserk when the Goblins steal the remote control. To make matters worse, Warlow lets a parrot loose.

Adaptation Dye-Job: An interesting example with the original source material and future adaptations. Jumbo's color would switch between orange and grey in the original books. The 70s stop-motion series made him orange, while future adaptations made him grey. In the original books, Noddy would easily be driven to tears during terrible situations such as the book "Here Comes Noddy Again", "Noddy Gets into Trouble", and "Noddy and the Farmyard Muddle" which wasn't present in Toyland Adventures. Noddy getting upset to the point of crying was present in the 1950s puppet series, 1963 animated short, the 1970s stop-motion series, and 1994 live show. She's a Man in Japan: In the American/Canadaian dub of "Noddy's Toyland Adventures", Sly is female.

This show contains the following tropes:

In Toyland Adventures, he's seen in episodes that adapted "Well Done Noddy" and "Noddy Meets Father Christmas" despite not existing until the 14th book. Leitmotif: In Toyland Adventures they have an ominous character theme usually heard during scenes taking place in the Dark Woods. In ''Make Way For Noddy" they have a more humorous and mischievous theme which speeds up during chase scenes. She's also the focus of "Noddy and the Funny Pictures", "Bicycle Battle" and "Martha Monkey's Banana Pie" in Make Way For Noddy.

Played by: Karen Briffett ( Noddy Live 1994)The main protagonist of the series. He's a little wooden toy boy created by Old Man Carver who ran away after getting scared by a lion he created. It's not so much an overflow of rubbish at the Noddy Shop. Rather, the kids find a lot of things with which they use to make marionettes for a marionette show. Uncanny Family Resemblance: In the books, he has a brother named "Little-Ears". He has a similar appearance to Big Ears but with smaller ears. In the book version of "Noddy Meets Father Christmas", it's revealed that Little Ears works at Father Christmas' workshop which is present in the 1975 series. Lichtenstein (voiced by Matt Ficner) is a beer tankard shaped like a Viking's head, usually referred to simply as "Stein". He doesn't speak much, but could usually be seen singing along with the songs. When Litchenstein does speak, he has a noticeable German accent, and ends many of his sentences with "Ja".Never Bare Headed: In the CGI shows, Noddy is never seen without his hat. In the original books up till Toyland Adventures, he's sometimes seen not wearing his hat. In the book Noddy Goes to School, he's unable to wear his hat due to his head being swelled up due to thinking himself as being "Very Clever" much to the annoyance of Big Ears. In the second season, Truman gained the ability to talk to the toys in the shop, and Noddy gained a more prominent role in the live action segments, often interacting with the toys and Truman. Most of the stories were repeated from the first season with some minor additions, as well as also introducing new stories coming from the fourth and final season of Noddy's Toyland Adventures. Dumbass Has a Point: Even in his later more bungling incarnations, Sly has a habit of sometimes pointing out holes in Gobbo's schemes, or making ideas that the latter then passes as his own.

Everyone seems obsessed with doing something for the Robbie MacRhino talent contest. When Lurk and Snipe interfere with Kate's and D.J.'s entries, Boobull feels there is only one way to mend things: grow to human form. Aunt Agatha is determined to rid the Noddy Shop of the Goblins, and so enlists an exterminator named Rodney Styx for help. Noddy (voiced by Martin Skews in the UK and David A. Kaye/Alberto Ghisi in the US) is the protagonist of the series. Noddy is an imaginative wooden boy who lives in Toyland. Although Noddy is characterised as a child, he also serves as the main taxi driver. He sometimes begins nodding uncontrollably, such as after sneezing, and has to physically stop himself from nodding. Dinah Doll (voiced by Andrea Harris in the UK and Tabitha St. Germain in the US) is a Toy Town shopkeeper and a big sibling support figure to Noddy.

Noddy (voiced by Catherine Disher) is the central character of the animated segments. During the live-action segments in Season 2, he is mostly still, but occasionally wanders around and talks to Truman and often the shop toys. Happily Adopted: He was originally an orphaned dog in his book debut Noddy and the Bumpy Dog. Eventually Tessie Bear adopted him by the end of the story. After Miss Pink Cat offers him as many ice creams as he can eat, Noddy starts driving her everywhere she wants to go. Noddy learns a valuable lesson about other people's property when he loses a tool he borrowed from Mr. Sparks without his permission. Gobbo and Sly (voiced by Ben Small in the UK and Don Brown and Doug Parker in the US) are two goblins who serve as the series' antagonists. Gobbo is the more conniving and intelligent one while Sly is the more airheaded and curious of the two members.

Noddy must give Martha Monkey flying lessons if he doesn't drive eight different vehicles before sunset. Big Ears: (unamused) "You didn't! That's a silly song, now I'll go buy the tent. We can make two nice holes in the sand for beds, and another hole to keep out things in, and the tent will give us a fine roof." Brutal Honesty: In the books and early works, Big Ears was less liable to pull punches when it came to the shortcomings of Noddy and other toys. Channel 5 acquired the UK broadcast rights to the series in the summer of 2002 for a broadcast within the fall schedule. [6] In June 2002, Universal Pictures Video acquired UK video rights to the series from Chorion. [7] Say It with Noddy [ edit ]A treasure map falls into Truman's hands. This sends all the kids in search of what they think is a great surprise. Lurk and Snipe have fallen prey to the smell of a visiting skunk. Boobull casts a spell to clean up the Goblins, but the smell mysteriously moved on to Truman. Truman had been guilty before of not telling the truth. Now he needs a device for telling that truth. Meanwhile, Aunt Agatha spreads rumors about a common criminal who chews on things called "the Chewer".
