Enter the Dragon has recently been released in a Bruce Lee Criterion collection set with the star’s other famous films, including The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, The Way of the Dragon, Game of Death and a posthumous Bruceploitation movie, Game of Death II. The other films in the box set had been remastered with a 4K restoration, however, Enter the Dragon was only displayed in 2K, possibly so Warner Bros. could release their own upgraded version. The set also featured a bevy of special features, including vintage trailers, alternate scenes, rare interviews and mini-docs. Gaylord Picht on Hard Target | 4K UHD + Blu-ray (Kino Lorber) That's fantastic news! I don't have any other streaming services linked to it, though, and I avoid signing up for new digital accounts if I can avoid it. I think a hard copy of the movie will one day cross my path and I'll be able to choose now based on what I've learned through this experience. Both the original 1973 Theatrical Cut and 1998 Special Edition Cut, with additional footage and alternate audio, have been remastered in glorious 4K UHD Directed by Robert Clouse, Enter the Dragon stars Bruce Lee in his final completed film role. Lee is widely regarded as one of the most influential martial artists of all time and was a pop culture icon of the 20th century. In addition to Lee, the film also stars John Saxon, Ahna Capri, Bob Wall, Shih Kein, and introduces Jim Kelly. It was written by Michael Allin and produced by Fred Weintraub, Paul Heller, and Raymond Chow with a score by honorary Academy Award recipient Lalo Schifrin. Warner is also releasing a standalone 4K UHD + Blu-ray (also features both cuts), which will be released August 7, 2023 (UK)/August 8, 2023 (US) – see details below for each release. Ska Martes on The White Storm 3: Heaven or Hell (2023) Review I really tried to like this one because the first White Storm was an acceptab…The movie was made before any type of HD existed so the best things will get come from the original tapes/film.....Everything else will contain some type of enhanced sound and picture, which is okay if that is what you like. The theatrical cut is a leaner experience that I think I prefer, but I never had much of a problem with the special edition so I wouldn't be too upset if that's all we got (compared to say The Exorcist or Amadeus where I'd personally hope for the theatrical cut. Amadeus has been rumoured to go to Criterion for years now so if that pans out I'd be quite confident about it being the theatrical cut, if not both cuts). Notable upside to them potentially siding with the theatrical cut could be the greater chance of having the original legacy audio mix included, though it's not always a guarantee with Warner. It would be nice having the Saul Bass logo at the head of the film too. Ska Martes on So Close | Blu-ray (88 Films) Instead of doing a star wars fan edit for 97456th time, someone could lend th… The United States Library of Congress preserved Enter the Dragon in The National Film Registry in 2004 as a "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" film. Also, Bruce Lee was selected as one of Time Magazine's "100 most influential people of the century" in 1999. Blu-Ray is simply enhanced DVD tech but requires a Blu-Ray compatible player....which is easy to attain right now, but unless you have a Blu-Ray compatible machine you can not play a Blu-Ray disc. This is where the machine comes into play because most Blu-Ray compatible players will also play a DVD perfectly.
