Life is beautiful and full of so many amazing paths and sights to see and ways to learn and there is no way to know what the future will hold or what roads my fabulous journey will take me down. And if i take a different path altogether, so be it. The thing about a journey is you never know what to expect, it’s full of wonderful mysteries and to me- that’s the most amazing part. You never know what you’ll see around the corner, or who you’ll meet or the sights youll see. My earthly destination will always be home- wherever that may be, and you can bet that i plan on seeing some things before i get there. This is the first story in the collection that I don't remember having heard before. And it is absolutely fabulous. Quite darker than the ones that preceded it as well. To call it the Danish "Rumplestiltskin" doesn't quite do it justice, and I actually think I liked it better than that famous Grimm Brothers' tale. Hans Christian Andersen's tales seem to have universal appeal, no matter what language they are read in. His stories express themes that transcend age and nationality—often presenting lessons of virtue and resilience in the face of adversity. They are written in a very chatty intimate style, which won him no favours from his original literary critics, who considered this tone inappropriate. But once he found his voice, he found he could not stop writing them, saying, "They forced themselves from me". A friend once expostulated, "You're capable of writing about anything - even a darning needle!" And sure enough, the author rose to the challenge, in his story entitled "The Darning Needle". The stories are clearly cathartic, but also full of beauty, tragedy, nature, religion, artfulness, deception, betrayal, love, death, judgement and penance. And—very occasionally—one has a happy ending. One can once again see evidence of Andersen's suppressed desires in the Snowman's desperately wanting to be with the Stove. Something that European society at the time would have certainly found most unnatural. but sea world was so so fun! I was up in San Antonio for a party that my boss was throwing and before I left I wanted to do something fun. so I decided that sea world would be fun! I got to sea word about lunch so I got parked and I took a pic of where I parked for fear that I would forget and get lost trying to find my car later lol!

I thought this one was much too long, featured too many religious overtones, and was ultimately quite unmemorable. Overshadowed by many, much better, stories.

Hans Christian Andersen Quotes About Art

This is a simple little story but I liked it all the same. One of Andersen's more famous, it has been at last been rendered into English with the correct title (previously this was widely known in English as "The Princess AND the Pea"). A princess who's able to feel a pea beneath 20 mattresses and 20 quilts?? Why, that's something special indeed! How the pea didn't get squashed is something I would have enjoyed learning. Hans Christian Andersen once said, "Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale." And his life certainly was an extraordinary rags to riches story. Timothy 1:7 “For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us Power, Love, and Self-discipline.”

The son of an illiterate washerwoman and a poor cobbler, who may secretly be a royal prince, who, through sheer persistence and influential help from an unlikely source, becomes a world-famous author, in a privileged position, hobnobbing with royalty" The beauty of life is the fact that you constantly get to grow and change and transform into the person you’re suppose to be, I never want to have a DESTINATION. I always want to have a JOURNEY. Wow!! ITS 2018 ALREADY!! and not even that, its already almost March. I can’t believe how fast time is flying by!!! This is insane. but the love between these two will never die!! their bond is special, and they will always love eachother, this mare has impacted whitneys life in ways not many understand. This mare taught Whitney how to trust, how to ride, that speed is fun. whitney overcame many obstacles when it comes to riding and its because of this mare right here!! only 7 years old and she’s NEVER been strapped in and now she running 2d-3d-4d times and thats because of this mare. but mist of all, this mare taught whitney the true meaning of love. whitney would sit outside and wash her, talk to her, groom her, clean her stall, do anything and everything for this mare and never think twice because she LOVED her. you could see the love and respect they had for one another! the connection between them will never die. it will always be there!Psalm 139:13-14 ” For you created my inmost being: you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made ; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Yes, this is a 5-star story to be sure. More folk than fairy, this tale is in fact based on an older Danish folktale that Andersen transformed with his characteristic wit. It features an A+ decapitation and glorious references to sugar-pigs, cake-wives, and social status. It's stupendous.

Traveling. One of my absolute favorite things to do!! This year i am making it a priority to take a weekend trip atleast once a month! So in January, Skylar and I took a road trip to Port Aransas which was super fun. And this month Chelle and I took a trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, which was a BLAST!!!!It's only once you've grown up that you realize that all that urgency to grow up was unwarranted. A reminder to slow down and savor life while you can.

Another of his preoccupations was to try out new places. He had a wanderlust, and an urge to flee from what he considered to be provincial life. There are echoes of this in his works. In "Five Peas in the Same Pod" all the peas are happy until one needs to explore the world outside. In "The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep", the couple brave all kinds of adventures, in search of something better. There are many instances of someone "trying out their wings". Hans Christian Andersen himself travelled relentlessly, but had a morbid fear of death. Wherever he laid his head, there next to him was a coil of rope which he took everywhere with him, and a handwritten notice, saying, "I only seem dead". He was obsessed with the thought that he might lapse into a coma, and be buried before he could come round. In fact he kept this strange morbid dread of being buried alive through to the very day he died. This is an absolutely fantastic collection of Hans Christian Andersen's best work. The translation, by Tiina Nunnally, is sublime and her notes on past translations of Andersen's stories makes it clear just how sublime it is. If you wanted to read a version closer to H.C. Andersen's original, you'd have to read these in Danish. if you’re anything like me, sometimes you just don’t feel like getting dressed and going to the gym but you still want to get your workout in. I got you girl! I know how you feel. I feel that way too sometimes because lets be real… even though you’re going to the gym to sweat and you’ll end up looking gross by the end you always want to look good when you get there because I mean, you gotta impress. I totally understand!! although, somedays you just don’t want to go through the hassle of getting dressed and driving to the gym. somedays you just want to stay home and not see people. I GET YOU. you’d rather stay in your comfy clothes and not touch your crazy hair and just get your workout in in the comfort of your own living room.He now felt glad at having suffered sorrow and trouble, because it enabled him to enjoy so much better all the pleasure and happiness around him. But now, O Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Genesis 1:27 says ,” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
