No, not every Maxi-Cosi ISOFIX base fits every Maxi-Cosi car seat. There are different ISOFIX bases for different car seats, however there are some Maxi-Cosi ISOFIX bases that fit more car seats than others, such as the FamilyFix2 and FamilyFix3, which fit several Maxi-Cosi car seats. These days, more and more European cars have the ISOFIX system, so there is a good chance that yours will have it too. Our Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix2 easily attaches to your car’s ISOFIX anchor points. Removing an ISOFIX base varies depending on which base you have, but it usually involves pressing a button and disconnecting the base from the ISOFIX anchorage points. The base's user manual will usually contain a section that guides you through the installation and removal process so you can ensure you complete these steps safely and correctly. Why choose an ISOFIX? When it comes to travel legislation across Europe, there are two safety standards that you should be aware of: R44 and R129/i-Size. Children up to the age of 12 years old or under a set height should always travel in a car seat that meets one of these approved standards. You may notice that there are a few Maxi Cosi ISOFIX bases that we haven't mentioned here, such as the 3WayFix and the Babyfix. This is because these bases have been phased out by Maxi Cosi and replaced with newer models. The Maxi-Cosi Easy Base is ISOFIX however it also benefits from the addition of belted attachment, meaning that if you have one car with ISOFIX anchorage points, but another without, then the Easy Base gives you a versatile and secure way to fit your Maxi-Cosi car seat into both cars with ease.
