He laughed, low in his throat. “Oh, yeah. That, I know. But I don’t want to see you get hurt again.” What more i can say is that this is my favorite book so far so many things happening that brings everyone together even when they far from Morganville. for being easy to read. Okay, so I know it sounds dumb, but it's a small book and it took me about half a day, all told- actually considerably less, now that I think about it. And given the minuses, this is a very good thing.

I was immediately attracted by this book. Somehow, I feel connected to the protagonist, Claire Danvers because of her geeky (and a little bit nerdy) style. I'd also like to compliment the cover - it's really eye-catching Rating - Glass Houses by Rachel Caine, 2 Sweets and wishing those vampires with prosperous days of garlic and chili. (Not bad for those people who really likes to try books that are far from there normal reading list. I recommend this to people who likes to read urban fanstasy, swear you wont regret it. Grabbed from Joyzi of Goodreads - Filipinos)

The book is about a newly opened gym where vampires train humans and vampires alike. It mainly focuses on Claire, but there is a new aspect of getting a first-person look into Shane’s thoughts. However, using idioms and text speak is starting to annoy me. The series follows Claire Danvers, a 16-year-old girl who moves to Morganville, Texas, to attend Texas Prairie University. Claire is super smart, and since her parents won’t let her go to MIT or Yale, she settles for TPU. So Claire lives on the top floor of a dorm she doesn’t want to be in anymore. This is because the meanest of the school’s mean girls. Monica Morrell is making her life a living difficult. Claire is being bullied by Monica and her friends, Jennifer and Gina, and three popular Mingo bullies against one new girl who barely knows anyone. Seems like vamps want to break free from Morganville but danger comes in a form that is almost least expected, in a human. When Eve's good friend Kim begins a film project to document the lives of the Morganville vamps. With her sudden disappearance truths begin to come out.

I kind of wish this series had ended with the last book. At the end of that one, Claire and Shane were in love, the evil vamps had been defeated, things were going to change in Morganville and all seemed well. It really was a good ending. And when I say "their mansion," I mean by the trio that lives there. Shane, Eve, and Michael. And I love Shane. The end. He's just...urgh. I love him. xD Eve is an awesome character. She has to be the second character that I've "met" that's a pure Goth, if you will. LOL. I loved her, she was funny. <3 Also, can I say that I will NEVER remotely like Monica...EVER...AT ALL? I don't give a shit if she sprouts wings and turns into an angel and saves everybody at the end of the series. I will forever hate that bitch. :) I was on Eve's side when she said, " Maybe she does deserve a good blowtorching." And Claire's like, " No. Nobody deserves that." And I'm sitting here like:I actually had no idea what book number I was on since I'm reading these in volumes, two at a time. So, I was a little surprised to find myself already on book 7, and I was even more surprised with Rachel Caine. By this time I didn't think anything worse than Bishop could happen to the gang. Well, that's where people need to think again. I wanted to like this one. I really did. It seemed like it was made for me. Morganville? Morgan? You can't ignore the connection. But sadly I was disappointed. While Morganville, Texas, is often a troubled town, Claire Danvers and her friends are looking forward to coming home. But the Morganville they return to isn’t the one they know; it’s become a different place—a deadly one… The Morganville Vampires is a series of young adult urban fantasy/ vampire novels written by Rachel Caine. The novels feature Claire Danvers, a student at Texas Prairie University, and her housemates in the vampire-controlled city of Morganville, Texas. [1] While the mayor of Morganville is human, the population co-exist with a group of vampires. [2] Morganville is also home to an unusually large number of second-hand thrift stores. [3] Seems super, right? Well, as I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, things are not quite as super as they seem. One of Eve’s co-stars in Streetcar is an enigmatic girl named Kim. Everyone seems to like Kim…except Claire, especially when she discovers that Kim and Shane have history. Claire just knows that Kim is rotten to the core, but she doesn’t want to seem like a super-jealous twit, so she keeps her mouth shut for the most part. Until she discovers what Kim’s been up to in Morganville. (No, I’m not going to tell you. That would ruin the whole book for you.) Claire knows Kim and whoever is working with her must be stopped, but how?

This book was written around 2008. It appears to be set around 2008 as well. The level of bullying Claire takes at both high school and college would easily get both institutions sued into bankruptcy. And in the post Columbine/Virginia Tech world, one might think that possibly, if you are being assaulted by the other students, the kind of violence that involves being tossed down a flight of stairs and left unconscious, that possibly someone would call the cops. Just maybe. Now a fraternity is tossing its yearly Dead Girls’ Dance and the surprise here is Claire and her similarly outcast closest friend named Eve, happen to be invited. Once they discover why, all nightmare will probably bust unfastened. Since this time both living and the dead are arriving out and everyone’s starving for blood. As much as I hated the initial setting, there were quite a few things that I appreciated later on. First of all, and you probably won’t believe this but, THERE IS NO LOVE TRIANGLE (in this first book, I don’t know if that will change in the later instalments). Happy day! OH OH OH!!!! And, okay, I must say-these might be some of my favorite kissing scenes EVER. Or, at least, in a long long time. I just am extremely enamored with how she writes the exchanges-sexy, sweet, swoony, and then there's how she explains the body? I don't know... I just was very attracted to the way she described something as beautifully simple as kissing. It's like authors forget how to, you know?? I have very high hopes for, ahem, future endeavors hehe. I first read the Morganville Vampires series about four years ago, at the beginning of my experience with Paranormal and Urban-Fantasy. At the time I though Twilight and The House of Night were THE SHIT so this wasn't my favorite because it's much darker. But now, 4 years later, I still like this when I can't even stand to read the first book of the other two series.

Publication Order of Morganville Vampires Short Stories Books

Who knew having your laundry stolen would turn into 11 titled books , to date. ( Bite Club # 10, releases May 2nd 2011, Last Breath # 11 , releases 1st November 2011)

I really love this series for a lot of reasons. The kids lives are really realistic (if you don't count the town full of raging vampires) in that they have everyday problems like everyone The only character that I really disliked was Eve,in the first book Fade Out she is a total bitch mostly to Claire and she wasn't that angry when she found out what Kim was doing. In the second book she is simply an hysterical bitch, she just sobs and after that Claire helps getting them out of a bad situation she calls her a coward.Claire who just saved their asses! And yeah for the rest she is sobbing and being very useful, not!Claire could have a better friend just saying....I can see there is going to be a romance somewhere along the line, but it's not in the book as much as some book do. When it's in your face all the time. This book has the romance, but it is off to the side, keeping up with the storyline alongside. It's more about the problem rather then the romance, which don't get me wrong, i love a good romance book as much as the next person, it's just not made a big deal of The story didn't go too fast nor too slow, and the world that Rachel made was fantastic. Again, I'm sure I'm one of the few people left in this world who has yet to read it, but I'm glad I did. I also love how Rachel ends each book with a cliffhanger of sorts.
