As others have said, a photo doesn’t do this watch justice. That’s because of the depth of the face. This is a six-layer cake of a watch. At the bottom is the date layer, then the day indicator layer with the lower part of the face with guilloche detailing, then the upper part of the dial with the same detailing and the day/night indicator. My recommendation is the Sun and Moon v3 in reflective blue. This is because it’s going to be the cheapest (since it’s one generation older) while getting the latest movement. Additionally, you get the beautiful blue dial that contrasts really nicely with the sun face, and shines like crazy in the real sun. There's really not much to be said about the craftsmanship of this piece. It's an Orient which is a quality watchmaker. This watch is a bit pricey, but not absurdly so. I believe you get what you pay for and this watch strikes the perfect balance of price vs quality and features which gives it great value even if it's not a so-called investment watch like a Rolex or Omega or such (which I would be almost scared to even wear). From the early simple days of the v1, Orient has been tinkering with the design to try and find the perfect balance. In v2 they transformed the date wheel and dial color, throwing out the tired traditionalism in favor of modernity. So what does the Orient Sun and Moon series say about the wearer? Is he a racing driver? a deep-sea diver? an astronaut? I've been thinking about this and I have come to the conclusion that the Sun and Moon v3 tells the world that you are, in fact, a Time Lord.

I already have a small collection and just the few minutes I spent wearing it to adjust the band and try it on (I haven't had a chance to wear it anywhere) this may be my favorite so far. The watch is extremely comfortable and lightweight to the point I could see forgetting I even have it on. This is my first leather strap with a clasp (not sure if that's the actual name for it) and it works remarkably well offering the snap-on convenience of a metal bracelet, with the comfort and easy wrist sizing (no fiddling with removing links!) of a leather band. This is probably one of the best looking watches at this price and value at this time. I actually got it for two fifty but at any price below five hundred this is a excellent deal. Once you do that, you become part of the exclusive Sun and Moon club. When you see others with this watch, you say “Hail the Sun!” and they respond with “Hail the Moon!” Then you both say “Hail the Sun and the Moon!” in unison. Although it is slightly larger than expected for a dress watch, this makes it more versatile and gives it a sporty touch.
