I really liked both Carrie and River’s relationship and how it developed from enemies to friends to lovers. I loved watching them grow to love each other. I loved how despite his rough exterior, River was actually really sweet and caring. I loved how he would do things for Carrie and help her and just being there for her. Carrie was such a sweet strong woman. Those two were just so good for each other. Despite their traumatic past, they still bring out the best in each other. These two were PERFECT together, there's not enough words to describe how beautiful their relationship was. I guess you just have to see for yourself. If I had to complain about a few things? First of all - Sam used an amazing editor this time - probably an american - because there were almost no british expressions to find! Which is something I hate - british expressions in american stories! A few too many AS's were still in there - 9 to be exact, but pfff - I'm the only one who hates those. But now to the story. I really loved it - but it was a bit too ... predictable? You just know that the husband will find her in the end! And if Carrie would've escaped in real life - and her husband would've been any kind of capable cop? He would've found her within 24 hours - she didn't do anything to hide where she was going! So weird! But I really loved reading the book - it was really sweet. Almost too sweet and fun, considering what both went through. I loved that especially Carrie wasn't broken all too much by what happened. She decided to start a new life and she did it.

A book that you can find love in the most unexpected places with a person that you never could imagine to be the one for you!!!! It’s sexy and sweet, and they are so right together. They deserve the happiness that they bring to each other’s lives, and I loved their love story so much. The man doth protest too much, methinks.❞ I tap my chin with my index finger. ❝You’re nice, River. The anger and pain and hurt have swallowed you up completely, and there’s nothing left but emptiness.

Years later River still lives in the place that became his safe haven, he keeps to himself, a semi recluse, and the town's outcast, he still creates beautiful objects with his own hands. And then this sexy girl moves in next door and changes everything with her smiles and her dog and her questions .... Oh my dear River, I just wanted to hug you and tell you that everything was fine! A great character❤️ River's Grandmother raised him and taught him her trade of 'Glass Blowing' in the hopes that it would help ease the demons waring within him, his mother serving time in prison but when she gets killed River blames himself. River is a complicated character. He was cold and standoff-ish the majority of the book, but it never stopped me from loving him. If anything, seeing how he shied away from people and hid from their judgment just made me love him even more all while wanting to give him the biggest hug possible. I loved how his character never really changed either. There was some very strong character development, yet overall River was still the same guy at the end of the book that he was at the beginning. We just got to see him in a different light and how he was when he wasn't hiding from the world.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Carrie and River's story. Carrie finds out she is pregnant and that is her last straw to convince herself to run away from her abusive husband. She ends up being neighbors with the grumpy jerk River. After more and more encounters, Carrie sees something in River and they form an unlikely friendship. There are some big secrets from both of their pasts that gets revealed, some sweet moments, and a few suspenseful scenes...and they get a HFN ending. Hlavné postavy sa mi enormne páčili, hlavná hrdinka mala skvelé zmýšľanie, veľmi som ju obdivovala a River bol iný typ chlapa, zároveň sa mi jeho charakter páčil a vedela som mu porozumieť. ? but, it was definitely missing something. on the surface, RIVER WILD has all the ingredients of a five star book. however, i think the reason it missed the mark, at least for me, was because all of those key elements had no time to breathe. The ending felt a bit rushed to me and I was wondering if that thing was going to happen (those who have read the book know what I mean), but I didn't expect it to happen in the last 90%. Like why? That was weird.

Separation: No, I didn't consider them "together" at the times apart to be considered a "separation". i'm going to be honest with you guys. . . i don't - well. . . i don't fully remember this book. and what i mean by that is, i read this book in May, moved on, and haven't thought much about it since. Well, this wasn't my first book by this author, but i have to admit that i had a very long time to read something from her and this story was the right choice!!!

Of course, there was a bit of drama and angst towards the end that had me on the edge of my seat, but overall I was very happy with the way it turned out. This definitely has some more serious themes/subjects May be hard for some to read: domestic violence, child abuse but was well worth the read. Sometimes, I feel like he's the other half of my soul. The part I was missing but didn't realise until the day when I looked into his eyes and saw him. The real him.❞ River byl zlomený a tzv. "bouchal pěstmi okolo sebe" protože, jen on znal skutečnou pravdu. Líbilo se mi, že jakmile se dozvěděl, že je jeho sousedka těhotná, najednou obrátil a začal se chovat jinak. Overall, River Wild was a great second chance in life romance! It’s definitely not as angsty as the cover would lead you to believe, but there were some very intense moments. The author does have trigger warnings in the beginning of the book but here they are, if you need them: domestic abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, bullying.
