About this deal

John Cunliffe owned the boat for the first 50 episodes from 1990 to 1992. Rosie & Jim called him Fizzgog. He was an author who wrote stories about Rosie and Jim based on his daily travels and adventures. Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: In an episode about a steam boat, John is so distracted by an old-fashioned steam boat, that the Ragdoll boat drifts into weeds, and has to be towed free by the steamer. He also leaves the kettle on the hob, steaming up the inside of the cabin. Not So Stoic: When Neil is startled or frightened by Rosie and Jim's antics, he becomes much more animated than John and Pat. Repeating So the Audience Can Hear: When Tilly says something in French, Tom or Tiny would sometimes repeat it in English.

Clips from this video were featured in the 1994 and 1995 Video Collection International children's titles adverts. Title Theme Drop: When John visits Tewkesbury Abbey and hears the organ being played, the Rosie and Jim theme tune is played as he leaves. Rosie and Jim are two rag dolls who live on a narrowboat called the Ragdoll. The two rag dolls sit on the narrowboat with their concertina and only come alive when no one is looking. They spend their days learning about the different places they visit with the narrowboat owners along the rivers and canals. The Original Adventures of Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends - Thomas Goes Fishing and other stories (1993 Re-Release) Rosie and Jim (sometimes written as Rosie & Jim) is a British children's television programme produced by Ragdoll Productions and aired on ITV from 3rd September 1990 to 10th March 2000, and on PBS from 5 September 1992 to 31 March 2001.

Expository Theme Tune: "I'm a tot, Je suis une tot. Tilly, Tom, and Tiny, we're the Tots on Tots TV, one, two, three, BOO!" Here is a Video Collection International children's trailer from 1993-94 featuring Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends, Rosie & Jim, Tots TV and The Wind in the Willows. Oh, Crap!: In "Automata", the duo play a game called Turning the Wheel while John rests his ears. First, the wheel stops at a feather, which sounds of nothing. Then, the wheel stops at a bunny toy that Rosie squeezes, making a loud squeaky sound, but not as loud as the last one, which was a drum! This trope was their reaction to the wheel stopping at that. The show was first broadcast on CITV, but was also shown on PBS Kids in the United States. In the 2000s, reruns were aired on CBeebies. In the episode Hats, when John is looking at new hats in the shop, he compares one to the hat worn by Postman Pat. Rosie and Jim also sing a bit of that show’s theme song in response. Rosie and Jim's home is the narrowboat Ragdoll. Throughout its run the boat was acquired by three owners, each one playing a role according to their real-life profession. The Video Collection Children's Promo from 1993 with clips of "Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends", "Rosie & Jim", "Tots TV" and "The Wind in the Willows". [announced by Sophie Aldred] Running Gag: The duo will often move things while John is not looking; who will then say nonchalantly "Oh! I wonder how that got there?"
