The Green Spot doesn’t seem as complex to me this time. I didn’t get as much variety of fruits this time, but I think that allowed the toffee and butterscotch to be more pronounced. It goes well with the rounded texture I get in a single pot still whiskey. Appearance: Translucent amber. Really catches the light. As if you are looking through some caramelized sugar after it has cooled. Basically, it requires that whiskey be composed of grains (such as barley, wheat, corn, and rye), be distilled to no more than 94.8 percent alcohol, and be aged at least three years in wooden barrels. These guidelines leave producers a lot of leeway to define their styles. was the first time for the Red Spot to re-appear in the market since the 1960s. The malaga casks are sourced from a bodega where they are seasoned with Malaga wine for two years. Incidentally, malaga is a sweet fortified wine made from Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel grapes produced in the environs of the Spanish city of Málaga.

PALATE: Yummy! Fruit drizzled stone fruit with vanilla and anise mixed with red apples, wood and sherry notes. Hints of dark roast coffee and barley. Medium-bodied and inviting.
