Last week, Morrisons announced plans to supply Prime Hydration, but didn't state a date for when it would hit shelves. On Thursday, the supermarket confirmed the drink had now arrived in stores, reports Manchester Evening News. Overall thoughts: Are they worth the hype? Probably no. But, if I could go to a store and buy them without any queuing or without over-paying, they would be worth it. The flavours are nice, vibrant and actually taste good. Flavours of Prime include Meta Moon, Ice Pop, Blue Raspberry, Orange, Tropical Punch, Lemon Lime and Grape. The drink comes in a variety of flavours which also includes Grape, Meta Moon, Orange, and Strawberry Watermelon, as well as the limited edition Orange and Mango flavour which is only available in the UK for a limited time. We could see the Meta Moon Prime Hydration Drink being described as a general candy flavor or even rainbow candy, although it kind of reminds us of the classic Life Savers. Like a classic hard, powdery, fruity candy, not to the sweetness or pop of Skittles, again more in the area of Life Savers. There are probably others it’s in the same ballpark as, but the sweet candy flavor is there, with the rest being open to interpretation. Summary The sports drink is made up mostly of water, along with 10 per cent coconut water and added vitamins, electrolytes and minerals. It has zero added sugar and contains around 20 calories per bottle. Ice Pop: Again, like the Meta Moon flavour, it has a medicine-like taste but this time there isn’t a sweet after-taste. Instead, a little on the sour side. Worst flavour so far. Shoppers have been left unimpressed by the inflated prices for Prime. It is believed that several shops have been selling the drink at similar prices.

As for our opinion on what the vaguely-named Meta Moon Prime Hydration Drink tastes like, it definitely has a candy sweetness to it, separating it slightly from the other options. The underlining flavor that’s paired with the sweet candy taste is somewhat fruity but in a more general sense than, say, a traditional fruit punch or even Prime’s own Tropical Punch Hydration Drink, which we feel has a dominating cherry taste.

Tropical Punch: Straight away it is very sweet, almost too sweet. Tropical flavours are super vibrant and almost burst in your mouth. Very strong and flavourful. Second best. It's fine, if you like that kind of thing, but it's nothing new or particularly ground-breaking. The flavour is good if you enjoy sweet, fruit-based drinks, but is it something I'm going to choose over Lucozade, Powerade, or Gatorade? Probably not. Blue Raspberry: First thought, very refreshing and tastes really good. The raspberry flavour is instantly evident, and this drink actually has me wanting to sip more. Best flavour so far and actually really nice. Tasting it, the artificial flavouring was confirmed. It reminded me of really cheap sweets you would get from the corner shop when I was younger - the ones that had that distinctive fake fruit flavour and were overwhelmingly sweet.

Blue Raspberry

I'd be interested to see if the other flavours are better, as I've heard very good things about the Ice Pop and Blue Raspberry versions, but with all of the hype, it just seems underwhelming. With the amount of hype surrounding the drink - and the fact that people have literally fought over it - I thought I'd share my review of Prime Hydration.
