About this deal

Core color consistency was generally excellent. There are some visible bits of regrind which was common across our entire sample. We didn’t find any miscellaneous chunks or anything else unusual or out of place. Cover

Whether you prefer a hard or soft feel ball is a matter of personal taste, but if a soft ball with low compression is your preference, you will find the RB 566 ball ideal. That’s assuming, of course, that the manufacturer of that similar soft, two-piece ball doesn’t have its own aerodynamic dimple pattern. The RB Tour’s impressive performance in windy conditions is largely provided by Mizuno’s unique C-Dimple design, also referred to as the Cone Profile Dimple. A softer core works to elevate trajectory and straighten flight – and now there’s no trade off in distance.” The Mizuno RB 566 may cost a lot less than comparable golf balls by some leading brands, but it certainly matches them on performance.

RB Tour X

Mizuno is doing something interesting with its ball numbering. Instead of the boring old 1-2-3-4 numbering, Mizuno is going 1-3-5-7. Why? Well, they’re all prime numbers, so why the hell not? If nothing else, it gives Mizuno a cosmetic point of differentiation.

Since those humble beginnings, our endeavour has blossomed into a robust and trusted online retailer, representing the leading brands in the golf industry. We take immense pride in being your go-to destination for all things golf! Continuing in this spirit, I have been busy putting Mizuno’s golf balls to the test to find out more about them and to see if they are a worthwhile contender for ever-popular brands such as the Titleist Pro V1 or the increasingly popular Maxfli Golf Balls. The main difference between the RB 566 V and RB 566 lies in their construction. The RB 566 V has a three-piece construction coupled with a new high-energy Butadiene core. The RB Tour (and the RB Tour X) is a low-launch/high-spin offering. It’s overstating it a bit to call it “unique” but its space in the ball-fitting world is where not everyone plays … at least not at retail. It’s a tail end of the bell curve offering where the only legitimate performance comps are the Volvik S4 (perhaps the most extreme example of a low launch/high spin golf ball) and what now is the prior Gen of the Kirkland three-piece ball.
